SERVING MISSION SINCE 1908

MY House plan to serve youth Community organizations need rezoning to make project a reality Carol Aun MISSION RECORD

A centre dedicated to serving vulnerable youth in Mission is slated to open by the end of February. About a dozen community organizations have been working together for the past six months to develop the Mission Youth House (MY House). The idea emerged from the Youth Homeless Committee, said Sanjay Gulati, executive director of Mission Community Services Society (MCSS), which is taking a lead role in the project. MY House will be located behind MCSS on Proctor Lane. The building is owned by MCSS, and volunteers are renovating it to accommodate the youth centre. The property is currently zoned for residential use and will be the subject of a public hearing Monday night to change it to commercial. “There are a lot of project-driven initiatives for youth available in Mission, but there isn’t a centre dedicated to youth,” said Gulati, who noted the number of homeless youth in Mission is not known. According to Kirsten Hargreaves, Mission’s manager of social development, youth workers last year estimated between 12 to 25 youth were “couch surfing” and didn’t have stable homes to go to. “About 45 Mission youth accessed services in Mission,” Hargreaves added. “We need to bring something on this

side of the water.” MY House will be a place at-risk youth can go to for meals, laundry and shower services. There will also be adults available to listen and offer advice. These were the top four needs identified by youth, said Barry McLeod, a youth worker with Youth Unlimited. Two medical rooms will also be included in MY House, but the group has yet to receive commitments from health care workers to run a medical centre. “Health care will be a key component,” said Gulati, who explained youth are more likely to seek help and treatment from a facility that caters to young people. He expects more youth who have not accessed services before will come through the doors when they open. The goal is to support young people, give them confidence, and empower them to contribute back to the community, added Gulati. The second phase of the project will be a shelter, but that will not be explored until after the first phase is complete. “The shelter will be a long-term vision,” said Gulati, who noted MY House is a community initiative, not an MCSS-run project. In addition to MCSS, other key funders of MY House are Ministry of Children and Family Development and Mission Mid-Day Rotary Club.

We need to bring something on this side of the water. Kirsten Hargreaves

A Heartfelt

Thank You Captain Mike Schmidt surveys the damage to a home on Bakerview Avenue.

Heavy fire damage to Bakerview home Carol Aun MISSION RECORD

A house in the 32800 block of Bakerview Avenue was significantly damaged by fire Wednesday night. It took Mission firefighters close to three hours to put out the blaze that started around 7 p.m., said Assistant Fire Chief Blaine Odenbach. The two male occupants inside the house

were airlifted to hospital with burns, he added. According to Captain Mike Schmidt, improper use of butane inside the house started the fire. Schmidt noted there was an “abnormal amount” of butane located, but said ignition sources, like the furnace or hot water tank, have not been ruled out as the cause.

Neighbours on the street reported hearing more than half a dozen explosions coming from the home. A resident who has lived on the street for 17 years said the house was engulfed in flames by the time she went outside to find out what shook her house. “It was scary because you never know what’s in there,” she told The Record.

Thousands of toys collected on Santa Train More than 3,760 people boarded the West Coast Express Santa Train over the holidays to help families in need over the holiday season. The Santa Train is a toy drive that has been running for 19 years from Mission to Vancouver. Riders board the train for free with a donation of a new toy to various Christmas Bureaus throughout communities served by WCE. The event ran for two

consecutive Saturdays and generated 2,732 toys and $422 for the Christmas Bureau in Mission. In Maple Ridge, 770 toys and $220 were collected, and in the Tri Cities, 717 toys and $453 were donated. According to TransLink, which operates the WCE, there were 700 more riders in 2014 compared to 2013. The Santa Train operated in partnership with Black Press Newspaper Group, Rogers

funniest works. “This is ultimately a comedy about friendship — in particular, the powerful bond of male friendship. It’s a timeless story that audiences loved last season and I’m excited to now be taking our hit production on tour,” said John Murphy, director. “It’s also a 1960s period piece — think Mad Men, but really, really funny. The one-liners are rapid-fire and nonstop, yet it still manages to tell a touching story of two best friends trying to work out their differences.” Tickets to the Odd Couple are available by calling the Arts Club box office at 1-877-2991644.

Hospital underperforming on admission times Tyler OLSEN ABBOTSFORD NEWS

Mission Memorial Hospital (MMH) is struggling to meet a provincial standard for the time it takes to admit emergency patients, according to Fraser Health Authority report card. While Fraser Health would like to see 55 per cent of emergency patients admitted to hospital within 10 hours, only 36.4 per cent of such patients at MMH are admitted during that time period. Those numbers are reflective of difficulties across the region served by the health authority, with just 30.1 per cent of all Fraser Health emergency patients meet what administrators call the “10-hour rule.” In Abbotsford the number is a little higher, at 39.1 per cent. While Shallen Letwin, the executive director for the Mission and

Mission Memorial Hospital is being challenged by proFILE PHOTO vincial admission time targets. Abbotsford hospitals, said first contact with physicians usually takes place an hour or two after entering the emergency room, the report card numbers show that admission often takes much longer for those who require a hospital stay. The region-wide Fraser Health report card stated: “Our emergency departments are becoming increasingly overcrowded due to increasing patient volumes, and recent

results at the site level show that most hospitals are still performing below the set targets.” Letwin said administrators are aware of the situation and working to speed up the process, an effort she said is closely related to reducing the length of stay for patients. “There are limits to how many beds and locations a hospital has so therefore we need to make the best use of those locations through these processes,” she

said. “For Abbotsford and Mission in the 30ish [per cent] range, there is obviously an improvement we’re looking at to try and advance [patients’] journeys a lot sooner.” She said administrators are also looking to improve the resources available in the communities so that patients who can be treated outside of hospital don’t need to be admitted to a bed. Asked if there’s enough room in the hospitals in Mission and Abbotsford, Letwin said: “There’s enough room if we continue to be very good with our length of stay and the admission rate. The inflow and outflow have to be connected and we’ve done a lot of work at connecting that.” With an average stay length of 9.8 days reported in MMH’s latest report card, the

hospital is more than two full days over Fraser Health’s target of 7.7 days. Between April and November of 2014, Abbotsford also had 49 patients staying longer than 30 days. Similarly, the emergency patient experience most recently measured last spring got a substandard

grade of 79 per cent, below both the 90 per cent target and in line with the Fraser Health average. “We are developing processes to ensure the patient-care journey is efficient, safe and expeditious,” Letwin said. But the solution isn’t simply to increase the

amount of staff. Letwin said staffing levels can impact the speed at which patients are admitted at busy times, and the hospital brings in more personnel during busy times. At the same time, she said staffing levels aren’t a key driver of reducing lengths of stay.

No tolerance for intolerance

The execution of 10 journalists and two police officers by Islamist extremists in Paris last week has justifiably drawn international condemnation. It’s seen as not only an attack against a single news outlet, but an affront to a fundamental tenet of our democratic values: Freedom of expression. That the newspaper Charlie Hebdo can spark outrage is nothing new. Its satirical attack on institutions on all sides of the political and religious spectrum has spared few. But anger is one thing. Murder is something else. According to media reports, the journalists were singled out, identified by name and systematically shot. They are not the first journalists to die, of course. Last year, 61 journalists were killed doing their job. In 2013, the number was 70. True, reporting from locations like a war zone can be a dangerous business. But of those killed last year, 27 were deliberately murdered. The motives vary. However, the under-

We can’t let any individual or organization dictate through force the information we receive, whether it’s an in-depth investigation, or a satirical cartoon. To be clear, freedom of expression is not absolute. There are limitations, like the promotion of violence and the dissemination of hate. But that still leaves a lot of latitude. We live in a time when access to information has never been easier. We can find it online, have it delivered to our doorstep, or channeled to our living room. But behind that information are thousands of women and men striving to provide the details you need to form your own judgments about a complicated world. We can’t let the ignorance and intolerance of armed thugs – and those who support them – stand in our way. – Black Press

The battle for Kennewick Man Tom Fletcher

B.C. Views My Christmas reading included a fascinating new book called Kennewick Man, a study of skeletal remains discovered in 1996 on the bank of the Columbia River in eastern Washington. He was an ancient hunter buried just south of B.C. almost 9,000 years ago, in the Early Holocene period following the last Ice Age. Among the oldest humans found along the West Coast of North America, he sparked an unprecedented battle by the Smithsonian Institution to examine the skeleton and publish the book late last year. The most controversial evidence came from the skull. It doesn’t match the classic Mongoloid profile of modern aboriginal people, key to the theory that the earliest humans reached North America by land bridge from Siberia to Alaska as glaciers receded. Smithsonian scientists confirmed initial re-

ports that Kennewick Man is a closer match with early Polynesians, and the Ainu people who remain in Japan today. He lived until about age 40, surviving for years with a stone spear point stuck in his hip. The authors conclude from chemical analysis that “Kennewick Man could not have been a longtime resident of the area where he was found, but instead lived most of his adult life somewhere along the Northwest and North Pacific coast where marine mammals were readily available.” This suggests migration by sea, perhaps from a great distance. The U.S. Army seized the skeleton. The scientists sued and eventually won the right to a brief examination. The court case exposed brutal and illegal actions of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and federal departments to destroy the site and intimidate the scientists. U.S. law demanded all remains from before European settlement be repatriated for burial by local tribes, without examination. Umatilla tribe spokesman Armand Minthorn wrote in 1996: “We view this practice as desecration of the body and a violation of our most deeply held religious beliefs.

“From our oral histories, we know that our people have been part of this land since the beginning of time. We do not believe that our people migrated here from another conti-

The scientists sued and eventually won the right to a brief examination. nent, as the scientists do.” The head of the Society for American Archaeology tried to get the researchers to drop their lawsuit, fearing it would interfere with fragile relationships with area tribes. The U.S. Justice Department warned the Smithsonian that lead scientist Douglas Owsley and others might be in criminal conflict of interest as federal employees suing the government. Even the White House weighed in against them. Meanwhile, the skeleton was mishandled

and later stored in substandard conditions at a Seattle museum, where it remains today. Parts of both femurs were lost, and scientists were falsely accused of taking them. They had been removed by tribal representatives and secretly buried. Kennewick Man was found as the army was in tense negotiations with tribes on salmon fishing rights on the Columbia, their demand for removal of dams, and the $100-billion cleanup of the Hanford nuclear site. The scientists finally won their case in 2004, with a ruling that the skeleton is so old there isn’t enough evidence to show it is related to the current tribes. The judge found the army repeatedly misled the court, and assessed the government $2.4 million in costs. The U.S. Army still controls the skeleton and denies requests for further study. The spear point, for example, could show the location where he was injured. One final irony. Analysis shows Kennewick Man ate mostly salmon in his later years, around 6300 BCE. These are the salmon runs wiped out by dams built by U.S. Army engineers before the signing of the Columbia River Treaty with B.C. tfletcher@blackpress.ca

Rebranding has negative potential In regards to the article on the from the front page of Jan. 07 paper about changing Mission from district to “city.” As someone who grew up in a small town (White Rock) only to watch it ruined by big box retail, and major residential or commercial development, it really makes me wonder if Mission realizes what it has to lose by gaining largescale commercial/residential development. Mission has this certain appeal. It’s a little

bit city, and a little bit country. There is still natural greenery, not the kind planted by the city to keep it looking “green.” There is still habitat for local wildlife, trails and lakes, little mom and pop shops and overall very nice people. Now, I understand the appeal of bringing in more commercial investment, it brings more people, more money. But do you know what else it brings? It brings higher rent

and bigger competition for the little locally owned coffee shops, consignment stores, restaurants and all of the other small businesses. When those people can’t afford to have their businesses here, do you think they will be able to afford to live here? If you like it here, that is scary. If this strikes a cord, think about how an influx of people will affect your local school systems, local infrastructure, etc. (quicker to build 50 townhouses than a four-lane road

to compensate for the traffic); the environment – think the bears and racoons are bad now? Mad your neighbour cut a few trees down? Just wait. I really urge citizens and council to be concerned about what you are potentially about to lose if you rebrand Mission. Small town appeal is something you can never get back once it’s gone. There are cities everywhere, but little gems like Mission are unique and rare. Don’t ruin it. Carli Emary

A national team that rocks These past weeks I’ve been one of the commissionaires doing security at the Abbotsford poultry farms hit with the Avian influenza. As on-site security, I had the opportunity to see our tax dollars at work, and I was impressed with our Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Officers from

all over the country came here to contain the outbreak and to save our poultry industry. The CFIA not only knew what had to be done, they went about getting it done, working long hours in difficult situations. It was clear they had the confidence of the farmers, and, knock on a wooden

barn door, it would appear the outbreak has been contained. I’d also like to acknowledge the work of the hazard team, Quantum. They shared the dedication of the CFIA in bringing the outbreak under control. It may be in vogue to belittle government employees, but I know these dedicated men and

women saved the day. At a time when our national juniors hockey team was winning glory, I was aware of another national team that rocks. And the next time I hear someone belittling our government workers I’ll reply with, “Let me tell you about a time.” Gord E. Sutherland

Ensure clean-running diesels Far from being concerned that the price of diesel fuel hasn’t fallen as fast as gasoline prices, I would actually support doubling the cost of that fuel, as it is far dirtier than gasoline and is a known health hazard. In science I trust, not slick ads promoting personal use diesel vehicles which have caused the use of such vehicles to double in recent years in North America. I read this week about how researchers at UBC discovered that breathing in diesel fumes can actually cause changes in our DNA. This study joins a long list of other findings by the Mayo Clinic, among others, whose research has proven the link between diesel fumes and a host of ailments

from increased risk of asthma, heart disease, and lung cancer. The soot particles from diesel fuel are even being deposited in brain tissue. Diesel fuel exhaust produces seven times the amount of nitrous oxide – a greenhouse gas – than gasoline fumes. It has been compared to second-hand smoke and is a known carcinogenic on a par with asbestos. And yet why isn`t more being done to curb its use? I hold to the idea that if science proves something like the health risks of diesel fuel, then we must adjust our attitudes towards that dirty fuel and move to phase it out for our sake and for the sake of the environment which it is helping to destroy.

The now-closed Air Care centres should be retooled and used to ensure that existing private use diesel vehicles are running as

cleanly as possible as a good first step towards the goal of eliminating diesel fuel use entirely as soon as possible. Robert T. Rock

District Update THIS IS OUR MISSION Around Town

In the Spotlight Council Meeting Changes There are changes coming to Council meetings. Starting Monday, January 19 Council will meet at 1:00 pm for Committee of the Whole, and reconvene at 7:00 pm for public hearings and question period. Council will review staff reports and make recommendations to Council during Committee of the Whole, and then reconvenes at 7:00 pm to ratify the Committee of the Whole recommendations, conduct public hearings (if applicable), handle other orders of business as described in the bylaw, and hold Question Period. Both meetings will be broadcast live on the District website and are open for the public to attend. Question Period has been broadened to allow questions to Council on any topic, and these questions and answers will be recorded in detail in the minutes of the meeting. Curbside Collection Be sure to check your 2015 curbside collection calendar or the District website at mission.ca/wastemanagement for updated curbside pickup dates and helpful information on waste management and recycling in Mission.

2015 Dog Licenses The District would like to remind everyone that notices to purchase new dog licenses have been sent to all previously registered dog owners. If you purchase a dog license by January 31, 2015, you will receive a $5.00 discount on each license you purchase. The fees collected are used to help fund the cost of animal control services within the municipality. Just as importantly, the license you purchase identifies you as the dog’s owner. This is important if you need to be contacted because your doc has been found or injured. Dog licenses can be purchased either at the District of Mission Municipal Hall, located at 8645 Stave Lake Street, or at Mission Animal Control Services, located at 9541 Woodward Street. Please call 604.820.3732 with any questions.

THANK YOU

Mission actor Glen Kask will have a small role in Gallery 7 Theatre’s production of Shadowlands later this month. Kask, a Mission resident for more than 30 years, has performed with Gallery 7 in the past and Opening Nite Theatre Society in Mission. Shadowlands is a touching story of C.S. Lewis and his romance with American poet, Joy Gresham. Written by William Nicholson, the play opens Jan. 23 at the theatre’s new venue, Abbotsford Arts Centre. The serene world of C.S. Lewis, Oxford professor, famous author and determined bachelor, is turned inside out when he is visited by the spirited poet. What starts as a cordial friendship transforms into an ardent romance. When Joy develops terminal cancer, C.S. Lewis is forced to re-think his stoic philosophy on

pain and suffering and experiences love and compassion on an entirely new level. This touching WestEnd and Broadway hit explores the power of love, and how suffering and loss can both challenge and transform a person’s character and resolve. “We’re excited to bring back this touching and sometimes surprising story about the endurance of love, even in the face of extreme hardship and adversity,” said Ken Hildebrandt, artistic director of Gallery 7 Theatre. “The play is quite beautiful with its charm and humour, yet packs a real emotional punch as we see C.S. Lewis move from a philosophical and emotionally-detached understanding of pain and suffering to something much more real, human and heart-felt.” Shadowlands runs for two weeks only, Jan. 23-24 and Jan. 29

Mission resident Glen Kask is part of the Shadowlands cast. New suspension bridge at Cascade Falls nearly finished & Under New Ownership &

MISSION RECORD

The new suspension bridge at Cascade Falls Regional Park is expected to officially open in the spring. Final touches are being done on the project, said Jennifer Kinneman, manager of communications for the Fraser Valley Regional District, which looks after the park. The park was closed at the parking lot to visitors last year to begin construction of the bridge and a viewing platform in from of the 30-metre waterfall. The project was originally scheduled to be finished in the fall of 2014, but delays such as weather and material availability have slowed progress. “As you can imagine, building a suspension bridge is complex and requires a significant amount of engineer-

IRREPLACEABLE DAYS

We should live each day as if it is going to be our last. Tomorrow is promised to no one, and so we really do not know when our last day might be. How would we live today differently if we knew it was going to be our last? What are we putting off that we would regret not saying or doing if we were to die this very day? In the United States, over 7000 people die every day. How many of them missed opportunities to live and love each day fully? Each and every day is special and irreplaceable, and comes with unique opportunities. All of the major religions of the world counsel us to contemplate our deaths, and this isn’t because there is a universal tendency toward morbidity, but rather because it is only against the backdrop of our mortality that the true value and meaning of our lives become apparent. None of us will live forever, but those of us who recognize the brevity of life will savor its joys and even its sorrows more than those who do not. So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. R.S.V. Psalm 90:12

suspension bridge is only the third one of its kind in the Lower Mainland. Its construction is being primarily funded by an independent power producer, Innergex. The company approached the FVRD board of directors in May 2012 with $255,000 to build the bridge and install an

educational signboard on hydroelectricity. The regional district has contributed $147,000 to upgrade the parking lot, toilet facilities, signage, and the trail leading up to the bridge. Cascade Falls is about 30 minutes east of Mission, accessed via Sylvester Road.

Hemlock hosts Slopes for Hope fundraiser Brenda Anderson BLACK PRESS

Striking a blow in the fight against cancer can be as simple as strapping on a pair of skis and pointing them downhill. And then doing it 21 more times. The third annual Slopes for Hope fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society takes place at Hemlock Valley Resort on Sunday, Feb. 8. The event is a great opportunity for Fraser Valley skiers and snowboarders to put together a team and enjoy the Family Day weekend, while doing their bit to help, said the Cancer Society’s Nicola Romaniuk.

Once again, Slopes for Hope participants are challenged to raise money — through pledges or lump sum donations — for the Canadian Cancer Society and then attempt to ski or board the vertical equivalent of Mount Everest (29,029 feet) in a single day. At Hemlock, that translates to 22 runs which, for the purposes of the challenge, can be completed by a single person or divided among teammates. Last year, two skiers accomplished the feat individually, said Romaniuk. Speed demons and snow plowers are equally welcome, because both the hill

and the event are suitable for every level of skier and snowboarder, she said. “You can challenge yourself if you want, or just get out and enjoy the day.” Hemlock is one of five B.C. mountains hosting a Slopes for Hope fundraiser this year. Locally, 45 people participated in last year’s event, raising $14,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. This year’s goal is $15,000. Money raised at Hemlock will stay in the Fraser Valley to help pay for programs, including the society’s volunteer driver program, and sending kids to Camp Goodtimes, Romaniuk

explained. The cost to send a single child to camp is $1,500, but through fundraisers such as Slopes for Hope, the experience can be offered at no charge to local families who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis or treatment. “If we raise $15,000, that sends 10 kids to camp.” Among those hitting the slopes on Feb. 8 will be Stirling Noyes, a two-time cancer survivor who attended Camp Goodtimes every summer, from age seven to 16. Although he has fond memories of his summers spent at camp, Noyes doesn’t recall

much about his first go-round with cancer. He was just six years old when he was diagnosed with leukemia. At 23, Noyes’s cancer returned. This time it was in his brain. The graphic designer was just minutes from getting into his vehicle and driving, he said, when he began feeling woozy — as though he was drunk. “My wife said ‘sit down,’ and the next thing I knew, I was being loaded into an ambulance.” He was admitted to Langley Memorial Hospital, and was alone in a washroom there when another seizure hit. Garbage exports rise

NEW RIDE RESOLUTIONS FOR 2015!

Jeff Nagel BLACK PRESS

Garbage exports from the Lower Mainland to the U.S. hit an all-time high in December, according to estimates from Metro Vancouver. They show loads of garbage heading south for landfills in Washington State climbed 60 per cent over the last year to more than 19,000 tonnes per month. Metro Vancouver last year tried to ban haulers from trucking waste out of the region over fears the rising flow of outbound garbage will cost the region millions in lost tipping fees and thwart recycling goals, as those loads are not subject to waste dumping rules, such as Metro’s new ban on disposal of food waste. Environment Minister Mary Polak in October rejected the proposed ban but named MLA Marvin Hunt to review whether some form of regulation is required to control waste flows. Hunt is expected to report back with recommendations in the coming weeks. Critics have accused Metro of simply trying to keep waste in-region to feed a planned new incinerator and hope a final provincial decision will be the nail in the coffin of its waste-to-energy agenda.

Garbage exports increased by 60 per cent over the past year Some industry players also believe Metro has exaggerated the threat of garbage exports, which they predict will be less viable now that the dollar’s drop from par to 85 cents has made it more expensive to use U.S. landfills. “Fifteen per cent is a heck of a swing,” said Ralph McRae, chair of NorthWest Waste Solutions, which does not haul outside the region. “That’s got to make it less economic.” Belkorp Environmental vice-president Russ Black suggested haulers who are still shipping to the U.S. are now “doing it out of stubbornness, not out of profitability.” Metro solid waste general manager Paul Henderson agreed

haulers’ profit margins are likely getting thinner, but said that hasn’t yet translated into any drop in how much garbage is shipped out, bypassing Metro transfer stations. Black said Metro could cut its tipping fee to become more competitive and recapture some of the garbage business it’s been losing to the U.S. Belkorp wants approval to build material recovery facilities – plants that break open garbage bags and separate out the recyclables that would otherwise be landfilled or incinerated. He said Belkorp’s proposed NextUse plant in Coquitlam would offer a last pass at extracting recyclables that would otherwise be garbage.

Steering autonomous drive Audi

The Audi Prologue concept was summoned to its display position at the recent CES electronics show in Las Vegas by an LG smartwatch! Piloted driving is what Audi brings to the table of autonomous vehicles, and it’s determined to put the system in vehicles as early as the end of this year. The system will be available to take over for drivers in an autopilot like mode, allowing the driver to redirect their attention. keith.morgan@drivewaybc.ca

Benjamin Jerry

CHILDREN ........................................80-98

Benjie, 49, passed away quietly from natural causes on November 19, 2014. He was at his home with his faithful cat “Momma” by his side. He was born on March 22, 1965 in Ellensburg, Washington, where he lived for two years. His next two years were spent in Priddis, Alberta, before moving to Abbotsford. Benjie grew up a very carefree child in the Arnold area, attending Upper Sumas Elementary, playing soccer, attending Boy Scouts, skiing and riding his motorcycle. He went on to Yale Junior and Abby Senior Secondary Schools. Most of his work life was first at Reid-Collins Nurseries and then at Linnea Nurseries where he was a hard-working and dedicated employee. Benjie always had a keen interest in nature. He liked animals and had many pets, including ferrets and a chinchilla. His last cat was with him for 15 years. He even kept a hummingbird feeder on his deck and fixed it with a light for warmth. Benjie also enjoyed tending many plants on his balcony and especially working on his bonsais. He was very mechanically inclined, inventive and creative, and was always working on projects like his giant chimes and climbing places for Momma. He also had a very keen sense of social justice and was a loyal friend to others. He was a kind and caring son to his mother who misses him dearly. Many sincere thanks to those who stuck by Benjie in his difficult times. Friends are invited to gather at 2963 Nelson Place, #57, on Saturday, January 24th from 1:30 to 3:30. If so wished, donations may be made to the SPCA or Salvation Army in memory of Benjie.
