A Burnaby man faces several charges in an identity theft crime spree that started last spring and spanned cities across Metro Vancouver. Burnaby RCMP’s economic crime unit began its investigation after a home was broken into and a credit card stolen. Investigators tracked down surveillance video from several places where the suspect had bought high-end goods using the stolen card, according to Burnaby RCMP’s latest community police report. The suspect was linked to another break-and-enter where a credit card was stolen, followed by it being used to purchase $12,000 in merchandise in a 12-hour period. The suspect is also accused of fraudulently buying a $36,000-vehicle through identity theft. Anthony Pavo Stulec of Burnaby now faces a number of charges.
