Fingers are crossed for good weather this Saturday night (Nov. 29) and the annual Sidney Sparkles Santa Claus Parade and Lighted Boat Parade. Volunteers with the Peninsula Celebrations Society are once again hosting the festive parades, after starting the event approximately 30 years ago. Society president Sheilah Fea says the weather is, to date, looking good for Steven Heywood/News file photo Saturday night. Since 2001, the Peninsula Academy of Music Arts has brought music into the lives of students young and old

and expanded over the years to keep pace with demand. Today, the academy’s founder and his son, Myles, are looking to reach even more people by branching out with lessons on the Internet.
