The Burnaby mosque once attended by the Parliament Hill shooter has already received threats, says the spokesperson for the B.C. Muslim Association. The Al-Salaam mosque has received threats in the past, most recently following Wednesday’s incident in Ottawa, said Mufti Aasim Rashid. That’s when Michael ZehafBibeau fatally shot Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, who was standing as an honour guard at the National War Memorial, before running into the Parliament Buildings where he was then shot and killed by security staff. Rashid was speaking at a press conference held Friday at the mosque on Canada Way at Sperling Avenue, which was attended by international media including journalists from the Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, CNN and the UK Telegraph. He said the threats were mainly through emails and have been reported to RCMP. please see qur’AN, A3
