Imagine what a little pampering can mean for someone whose days are running out? So she did some simple things— brushed their hair, cut their nails, washed their faces. Their smiles of appreciation stuck with Boyle when a friend’s mother-in-law went into hospice care in North Vancouver. Three people have been arrested after it took Burnaby RCMP just three hours to solve a major fraud case. The fraudsters victimized businesses in Burnaby, Vancouver, Delta and Kelowna. Burnaby RCMP’s Economic Crime Unit first got word of the scheme on Sept. 30 at 6:30 a.m. when they learned a fraudulent credit card purchase was made at a Burnaby hotel. Investigators learned the suspect checked in using fraudulent identification and a credit card. That card belonged to a Florida resident who confirmed she had not used it in Burnaby, say Burnaby RCMP. By 7:55 a.m. officers had arrested their first suspect. Two more suspects, both men, were arrested shortly after 9 a.m. when they got back to the hotel. Police uncovered several charges made with numerous fraudulent credit cards at two high-end Vancouver hotels and a hotel in Kelowna. Police believe the suspect booked into hotels using stolen B.C. driver’s licences and fraudulent credit cards from multiple victims. please see three, A3
