Christmas Morning Wife-Saver Breakfast
Apple Cinnamon Ornaments
Prepare the day before and pop in the oven in the morning. • 16 slices of bread (crust removed) • Thinly sliced ham • Sliced or grated sharp cheddar cheese • 6 eggs • ½ tsp salt • ½ tsp pepper • ½ tsp dry mustard • ¼ cup minced onion
• ¼ cup green pepper (�inely chopped) • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce • 3 cups whole milk • Dash of Tabasco • ¼ lb butter or margarine • Crushed corn �lakes
In a 9x13 glass buttered baking dish, put 8 slices of bread. Add pieces to cover dish completely. Cover bread with slices of ham. Lay cheese overtop of ham and cover with the last 8 slices of bread. In a bowl beat eggs, salt and pepper. Add dry mustard, onion, green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, milk and Tabasco. Pour over the bread. Cover and let stand overnight. In the morning, melt the butter, pour over top. Cover with crushed corn �lakes. Bake uncovered for 1 hour at 350F. Let sit 10 minutes before serving. Serves 8. We invite you to...
In a large bowl add equal parts of the following: • Cinnamon • Liquid White Glue • Apple Sauce • Glitter (optional)
Mix together until you have a dough. Roll the dough onto a �lat surface then use your favourite holiday cookie cutters to punch out shapes. Place the shapes onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Use a straw to make a small hole in the top of the shape. Let air dry for one day on the �irst side then �lip all ornaments and let the second side dry for another full day. Now the ornaments are ready to decorate with glitter glue and some ribbon. You have now made wonderful scented ornaments that you can give as a gift or hang on the tree.

Easy Chocolate Mousse • 1 lb semi sweet chocolate
• 650 ml soft peak whip cream
• 4 oz hot water • 1 oz Amaretto
Melt chocolate in a bowl over double boiler. Bring whipping cream to a soft whip. Mix the hot water and Amaretto together. Pour the hot water and Amaretto over the melted chocolate. Whisk the chocolate. Fold the whipping cream into the chocolate until mixed. Place the mousse mixture into serving dishes, be quick as it will set quickly. Refrigerate for 1 1/2 hours to set.

Guacamole Dip • 4 ripe avacados • 3 tbsps fresh squeezed lemon juice (1 lemon)
• 8 dashes hot pepper sauce (optional) • 1 large clove garlic

1/2 cup red onion 1 tsp salt 1 tsp pepper 1 medium tomato
Cut avacados in half, remove pits and scoop flesh out of the shell into a bowl. Dice onion into small pieces. Cut tomato, remove seeds and dice into small pieces. Add lemon juice, pepper sauce, onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper and toss. Add tomatoes and mix lightly.

Meadow's Christmas Cookies for Doggies • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour • 2 cups whole wheat flour • 1 cup cornmeal • 1/2 cup skim milk powder
• 1 tbsp dry yeast • 3 1/2 cups lukewarm chicken or meat broth • 1 egg beaten with about 2 tbsps water (for egg wash)
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease cookie sheets. Mix together all dry ingredients. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm chicken or meat broth. Let yeast broth mixture set 10 minutes then stir in flour mixture until a soft dough is formed. If the dough is too sticky you can add more flour. Roll dough out 1/4" thick. Cut dog biscuit shapes from dough. Put scraps in bowl and re-roll until all dough is used. Brush biscuits with egg wash. Bake on greased cookie sheets for 45 minutes. Sausage Apple & Cranberry Stuffing • 1 1/2 cups cubed whole wheat bread • 3 3/4 cups cubed white bread • 1 lb turkey sausage • 1 cup chopped onion • 3/4 cup chopped celery • 2 1/2 tsps dried sage
Place white and whole wheat bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet in the oven. Bake at 350F for 5-7 minutes or until lightly toasted. In a large skillet, cook the sausage and onions over medium heat, stirring until evenly browned. Add celery, sage, rosemary and thyme and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour toasted bread cubes and sausage mixture together in a bowl. Mix in chopped apples, cranberries and minced parsley. Drizzle with turkey stock and melted butter, mixing lightly. Spoon into turkey.
Roasted Brussel Sprouts • 1 1/2 lbs brussel sprouts • 3 tbsps olive oil
• 1 1/2 tsps dried rosemary • 1/2 tsp dried thyme • 1/3 cup fresh parsley • 1 apple • 3/4 cup dried cranberries • 3/4 cup turkey stock • 4 tbsps butter
• 1 tsp salt • 1/2 tsp pepper
Wash, dry and trim brussel sprouts. Mix brussel sprouts with olive oil, salt and pepper ensuring sprouts are coated. Place on baking sheet and put on centre rack in the oven at 400F. Roast in the preheated over for 30 - 45 minutes. To ensure even browning, shake pan every 10 minutes. Sprouts should be dark brown when done.

Turkey Pot Pie • Frozen puff pastry dough to cover 3 qt casserole • 1/2 cup butter or margarine • 1/2 cup flour • 1 tsp salt • Pepper to taste • 2 tbsps onion (finely chopped) • 3 cups chicken broth
• 1/2 lb mushrooms (sliced) • 1 tbsp butter or margarine • 3 cups turkey (cooked & diced) • 3 carrots • 2 stalks celery (finely chopped) • 2 potatoes (cubed)
In a small frying pan, cook mushrooms in 1 tsp butter and set aside. Melt 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan. Blend in flour, salt, pepper and onion. Gradually whisk in chicken broth. Cook, stirring constantly until smooth and thick.
Add mushrooms, turkey, carrots, celery and potatoes to sauce. Mix well and pour into large casserole. Cover the mixture with pastry and slash to allow steam to escape. Bake in a preheated 400F oven for approximately 30 minutes or until pastry is golden and turkey mixture bubbly.

Chex Party Mix • 6 tbsp butter • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce • 1 1/2 tsp seasoning salt • 3/4 tsp garlic powder • 1/2 tsp onion powder

3 cups Corn Chex cereal 3 cups Rice Chex cereal 3 cups Wheat Chex cereal 1 cup mixed nuts 1 cup pretzels 1 cup broken bagel chips
Melt butter in large roaster, stir in seasoning salt, garlic powder and onion powder. Add remaining ingredients and evenly coat. Bake in preheated 250F oven for one hour stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.

2 cups sugar 6 tbsp cocoa 1/2 cup butter 3 cups instant oats
• 1/2 cup milk • 1/2 tsp vanila • 1 pkg coconut
Combine sugar, cocoa, butter and milk in a large sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Add vanilla. Remove from heat and stir in coconut and oats. Drop onto wax paper covered cookie sheet and refrigerate until cool.
Savory Cheesecrafter Cookies • • • • •
1/2 cup soft butter 2 cups aged cheddar 1/2 cup grated parmesan 1 cup flour 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
• 1/2 tsp salt • 1 egg beaten (brushing on top) • 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
Mix first set of ingredients together to form dough. Roll to 1/8" thick. Cut desired shapes. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375F for 8 minutes. Makes approximately 8 dozen at 2" shapes.

Put dough buns in bundt pan and sprinkle brown sugar and pudding powder on top. Top with melted butter and sprinkle on cinnamon. Cover with damp cloth and let sit at room temperature overnight. Remove towel and bake for 20 - 30 minutes at 325F.

Line 9x5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper. Place chocolate in top of double boiler, add cream and butter. Melt over medium heat, stirring until completely smooth. Remove from heat and cool for a minute. Whisk in egg yolks and sift in icing sugar. Pour into prepared pan and refrigerate overnight. Unmold, remove paper and dust with cocoa powder. Drizzle with fruit puree (optional) of choice. Use a hot wet knife to slice. Makes approximately 16 servings.
