heart of the holidays ticket sales Interested in a new and successful way to raise funds for your non-proďŹ t group? Guildford Town Centre is hosting its third annual Heart of the Holidays, a special evening of shopping to kick off the holiday season. Heart of the Holidays is set for Tuesday, November 27, from 5:30pm to 10pm. Guests will enjoy special “one night onlyâ€? offers and discounts from retailers, entry into draws for fabulous prizes, access to the VIP lounge for snacks and beverages, and live entertainment throughout the centre. shuttle service We are pleased to introduce our new Shuttle Service, now operating inside the shopping centre on the upper level, daily from 12pm to 4pm. On evenings when we’re open late, the shuttle runs until 7pm.
have you visited Guildford Town Centre lately? There are plenty of changes, and we’re excited to hear your comments and see your reaction to our quickly unfolding $280-million redevelopment. Any time a large shopping centre takes on a renovation of this magnitude, there’s naturally a readjustment period. We’re conďŹ dent you will love the changes. Drive on in. Our directional signage will help guide you to your favourite retailers, and here’s a little secret – our upper level parkade is a dream for the shopper who loves easy parking, and quick access in and out. Look for the parkade entrance ramp off of 150th Street and 102A Avenue, and enjoy the added convenience. We’re also building new entrances with direct access to the
shopping centre from both levels of the parkade. We know there are areas in and around the shopping centre that will be unfamiliar to you, however, we still have plenty of familiar faces and a diverse mix of retailers for all your shopping needs. We can’t wait until our ďŹ nishing touches are revealed. Still to come, an exterior plaza featuring a dramatic basalt waterfall that will cascade from the upper to lower plaza, and a nature walk to promote healthy community living. Stop by and see Guildford Town Centre’s exciting transformation. We’re building a bright future, and we want you to be a part of it.

remember when? message from the Guildford team When it comes to pleasing customers, we tip our hats to an amazing group of people who make up the largest part of the Guildford Town Centre team – our retailers. Ryan Hank, manager for Jersey City Canada at the centre said, “Everyone works together, from maintenance helping out on little tasks, to retailers helping each other out. The mall is very community-oriented, and you can see it as you walk the halls. It’s great to be part of it.â€? Trish Petrie has been manager of Black Bond Books Guildford for seven years, and said the changes in recent months at the centre have been amazing. “At the moment, I like to think of the mall as an adolescent, awkward, and unďŹ nished and not looking its best. But soon, all the changes will make sense and Guildford Town Centre will be revealed in a new, more mature and lovely form. It’s going to be great.â€? Adrien Cormier, manager of Sears for the last three years, loves the camaraderie at the centre. “Guildford Town Centre has made me feel like part of the team, from a simple hello, to helping me solve many issues that may come along in a simple, efďŹ cient and timely manner. A big Sears WOW! to the team.â€? Stop by and say hello. From kiosks to large department stores, our retailers are open by 10am daily to welcome you.
We have come a long way! It’s hard to believe the progress that has taken place since January 2012. As the resurfacing of our parking lot continues, directional signage is in place to help you ďŹ nd the most convenient parking for your visit. This is the perfect time to start parking on the upper level of our new parkade, which offers amazing parking choices and its own convenient entrance off of 150th Street and 102A Avenue. Each day brings us closer to completion, and we hope you’re as excited as we are to see our new look coming together. We also thank you for your patience, and especially your patronage, while we grow into one of the ďŹ nest super regional shopping centres in Canada.
On the upper deck of our new parkade (located near Walmart Supercentre) we’re incorporating a nature walk that’s quickly taking shape. Our no smoking policy is now in effect on the property, and we’re complementing that with the planting of more than 900 oxygen-rich trees.
Frew said this is the most signiďŹ cant redevelopment the centre has ever seen. She believes customers are in for a wonderful surprise, and the potential of attracting new people to the centre has never been greater. “I love it. It’s so exciting!
Guildford Town Centre is proud to be a sponsor of the Surrey Eagles Junior “Aâ€? Hockey Club. If you are a hockey fan and would like to go to a game, visit Customer Service and you can be our guest in the Guildford Town Centre fun zone! Tickets are available on a ďŹ rst come, ďŹ rst served basis for games on September 14, 21, 23 and 30. Limited quantities, maximum four per family, per season.
design - promoting healthy living Incorporating the organic feel of British Columbia’s natural elements and celebrating healthy living is key to the overall design of the new Guildford Town Centre.

construction update
Diane Frew has been at McNaughton and Ward since 1981, and she has seen plenty of changes at Guildford Town Centre, as well as within her industry. Remember the days of the annual one-day insurance renewal? “Going back years ago, the insurance industry used to have one common expiry date, and we had people lined up right out the door,â€? Diane recalled. “We used to have a booth set up at the other end of the mall and security with us too,â€? she said, adding that clients used to walk in with cash, and staff would have to manage as much as a quarter million of that cash on the epic day. “In our ofďŹ ce, we would come in and John Ward, the previous owner, would have us work 9am to 9pm. He’d bring in sandwiches and dinner, and we would just stay until it was done. It was pretty hectic.â€? Over the last 46 years, stores have come and gone, new additions have been added, and relocations have occurred – McNaughton and Ward used to have a real estate ofďŹ ce in the centre as well!

Q: A:
Do you recycle construction debris?
It stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. It’s a rating system for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. As a responsible corporate citizen doing business in Surrey, we strive to do everything possible to maintain a green and healthy community, for now and the future.
We already recycle everything from plastic bags, batteries and uorescent lamps to printer cartridges, scrap metal and drywall. Next year, we will add organics from the Food Court.
With an eye on the future, we will be installing electric vehicle charging stations and more than 100 bike spaces.
Yes! Ledcor works with all the trades to recycle or salvage at least 50 percent, and as much as 75 percent of the construction demolition and land clearing waste.

remember when? message from the Guildford team When it comes to pleasing customers, we tip our hats to an amazing group of people who make up the largest part of the Guildford Town Centre team – our retailers.
Hockey Club. construction update

Yes! Ledcor works with all the trades to recycle or salvage at least 50 percent, and as much as 75 percent of the construction demolition and land clearing waste.

shuttle service We are pleased to introduce our new Shuttle Service, now operating inside the shopping centre on the upper level, daily from 12pm to 4pm.
