EDITOR’S NOTE
TEN IS THE MAGIC NUMBER! Welcome to the 10th Edition of The BLACKMAGiC Newsletter. Reaching ten editions is a milestone worth celebrating. Over the past publications, Marketing has worked to create a newsletter that keeps Magicians connected to the key developments, insights, achievements, and initiatives happening across the BLACKMAGiC Group. From a Marketing perspective, the newsletter has become an important tool for keeping our people engaged, strengthening internal communication, and even helping new employees understand the business they have joined. Our goal has always been simple: to provide clarity, consistency, and connection in a format that Magicians recognise and trust. On behalf of the Marketing team, a BIG THANK YOU goes to every Business Unit and colleagues who has contributed stories, updates, photographs, and achievements along the way. These ten editions would not have been possible without you. This newsletter belongs to all of us, so we hope you enjoy this special milestone edition. Wellness, Community and Connection July gave us plenty to celebrate. HR hosted our Wellness Day, reminding us that our people remain one of the most valuable assets of the business. A healthy and supported workforce can positively influence how we work, perform, connect, and show up for one another. The event was not only informative but genuinely enjoyable, so a big bravo to the HR team for putting it together. Giving Back, Our Way July also saw Magicians across the Group answer the call to make a difference through Nelson Mandela International Day. This year, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, our Business Units found different ways to give back within their respective communities and locations..
A heartfelt thank you to every Magician who participated, contributed, volunteered, or simply chose to make a difference. Different locations. Different initiatives. One shared spirit of giving. Celebrating the Small Wins One of the most important messages from leadership during this period has been the simple reminder to celebrate every small win. The logistics industry and the environment in which BLACKMAGiC operates can be demanding. In the middle of deadlines, targets, challenges, and daily pressures, it can be easy to overlook the small steps that keep the business moving forward. But those small wins matter. This month, we celebrated colleagues who have taken meaningful steps towards their qualifications and personal development through the LMS and other certification opportunities. Sibashayela ihlombe! A big bravo to everyone who has taken the opportunity to learn, grow, and invest in themselves. These achievements are about more than certificates. They represent a growing culture of self-development, continuous learning, and personal growth across the Group. Let us continue to recognise the little things. Let us celebrate progress, no matter how small. Because sometimes, it is those small wins that create the momentum for something much bigger. For this historic 10th Edition, Marketing would once again like to thank everyone who has contributed to making this newsletter possible. And as we look towards the next ten editions, we encourage you to keep sharing those little magical stories that make our business work. Let us create. Let us grow. Let us celebrate every small win. Enjoy the 10th Edition of The BLACKMAGiC Newsletter.

Wellness, Wins & New Beginnings at BML PE TWO DAYS, ONE WELLNESS GOAL
NEW FACES, NEW ENERGY
BML’s Wellness Day brought employees together across two dedicated sessions, allowing both Bargaining Council employees and staff members on Bonitas Medical Aid to take part. The focus remained on wellness, health, and giving our people an Lucinda November Aphiwe Mfuduka opportunity to prioritise WELLNESS CHAMPIONS: themselves.
LUCINDA & APHIWE TAKE THE WIN
A big congratulations to Supervisor Lucinda November and Aphiwe Mfuduka, who were recognised for achieving the best Vitality Checks during the Bonitas Wellness Day. Their wins added an extra dose of excitement to an already meaningful day.
Xolani Ndude
Siyanda Mata
BML PE welcomed two new members to the team in July. Xolani Ndude joined as the new Training and Development Officer, while Siyanda Mata came on board as a Rail Linesman. We look forward to seeing the experience, energy, and contribution they bring to BML.

LEARNING IN MOTION
"Sometimes the strongest teams are built around a fire, not a boardroom table."
Continuous development remains part of the BML journey. Xolani Tshemese from the Admin Department participated in training through the LMS, while Khwezi Gwanya, a General Worker, emerged as one of our top LMS participants. Their commitment to learning and personal development is a great reminder that every Magician, regardless of their role, can take ownership of their growth and build towards a stronger future.
BML FC continues to battle it out, securing draws against Valeo (1– 1) and Dana (2–2), before narrowly losing 2–1 to Sasko. The much-anticipated BML FC vs Tradekor derby was unfortunately cancelled due to Page 4 bad weather. We’ll be back on the pitch soon!

Finalists on a National Stage: ZEN Holdings Recognised at the Nedbank Empowerment Awards
WELLNESS IN ACTION: ZEN PUTS ITS PEOPLE FIRST
WELLNESS MEETS A LITTLE FRIENDLY COMPETITION
ZEN Holdings brought the team together for a day focused on health, wellness, and connection, creating an opportunity for employees to step away from the demands of the working day and prioritise their wellbeing. The Wellness Day encouraged employees to engage with the wellness activities, learn more about their health, and connect with colleagues in a relaxed environment. Like the wellness initiatives across BMG and BML, the day highlighted the importance of creating space for employees to look after themselves while building stronger relationships within their teams. It was more than just a wellness activity. It was a reminder that healthy people build stronger teams, and that taking care of our people is an important part of building a stronger BLACKMAGiC Group.
ZEN Holdings’ Wellness Day was all about putting wellbeing first, with employees taking part in wellness checks and learning more about their health. The day ended with a fun knowledge challenge, where employees were tested on information shared during the wellness sessions. Congratulations to our top three winners, who walked away with a blender, water bottle, and milk frother respectively! A great reminder that taking care of yourself can come with a few rewards too.
"RECOGNITION MAY HONOUR A MOMENT, BUT IT IS THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE JOURNEY WHO CREATE A LEGACY."
LEARNING NEVER STOPS: EMPLOYEES COMPLETE LMS TRAINING Continuous learning remains a cornerstone of the BLACKMAGiC Group's growth strategy, and congratulations go to the ZEN Holdings employees who successfully completed their Learning Management System (LMS) courses. By investing in their personal and professional development, these employees are strengthening their skills while contributing to the longterm success of the business. Every completed course represents another step towards building a knowledgeable, capable, and futureready workforce. Congratulations to everyone who reached this milestone and continues to embrace a culture of continuous learning.
