We integrate this data into a building information model to explore site utilization options, prioritizing considerations such as aesthetics, functionality, and financial viability.
SPACE NEEDS ANALYSIS
BKV Group assesses your space requirements through staff discussions, department surveys, post-occupancy evaluations, demographic forecasts, and industry best practices. We lead discussions on right-sizing, documenting the program with spreadsheets and room criteria sheets. These detail adjacencies, finishes, equipment, furniture, and design constraints, creating a precise costing model before design begins.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
BKV Group assists in advocating for new or replacement fire stations and garnering community support through various channels like neighborhood meetings, community charrettes, press releases, project websites, and direct mailings. We utilize line drawings, renderings, Virtual Reality goggles, spreadsheets, and charts to clearly illustrate the local, regional, and global benefits, facilitating approvals, zoning changes, or public funding.

BKV Group finished up Fire Station #2 in Rochester, MN. It was a very challenging project with site issues and property acquisition issues. We had a tight budget and they were able to bring it in on time and on budget. [BKV Group] was just fantastic on how they collaborated with the department and my fire group. I was so impressed with the project that when I retired from the Rochester Fire Department, I went to go work for BKV Group.

What it really made this project a success was the team. Going back to the initial meeting Chief Slama and I had with Kraus Anderson in August of 2021, to official hiring the 3 key partners of KA, BKV, and Tegra all the way up to the [Grand Opening] event.
