It is indeed a pleasure to bring the 2019 USA National Miss Maryland Pageant to Rockville! We welcome all of the Delegates to an exciting pageant system where their experience will be full of wonderful memories created right here in the beautiful F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre. We are dedicated to giving all of our Delegates and Titleholders the experience of a lifetime and strive to make sure she walks away feeling like the Queen she is! Our program recognizes the personal achievements, community involvement and excellence of young women across the USA in a fun and trendy way. We award young women for their accomplishments and mentor them to reach their goals and unleash their true potential, while encouraging them to find their voice and make a difference. Many Delegates go on to become ambassadors of many worthy causes and charities. Under the leadership of an award winning national director, USA National Miss has become one of the fastest growing national pageant systems in the country. Barbara Crump
Barbara Crump is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a professional working in the field of federal government procurement for over 20 plus years. Barbara has a passion for uncovering unique and compelling ways that young people can develop and grow. She has a special passion for working with youth with hidden disabilities such as Epilepsy and Autism and has spent many years as a supporter and volunteer with HIP KIDS a nonÂprofit organization located in Clinton, Maryland. She is a member of the Board of Directors for G-1R-L-S, Inc. a non-profit organization for youth in transitional settings and a Pageant Coordinator for USA National Miss Maryland and Maryland Girls of Excellence Scholarship Pageant System.Barbara is married to Peddro Crump and the proud mother of two sons, Cameron and Evan. Barbara and her family currently reside in Clinton, Maryland.

HEART OF CHARITY was founded by USA National Miss Role Model Jr. Teen/Maryland Jr. Teen, Taylor James, seven years ago at the age of nine to encourage volunteerism and raise funds for her two favorite charities - Food on the 15th and Cool Kids Campaign. Under her leadership, Heart of Charity has expanded its reach to support approximately ten organizations and donate over two thousand five hundred items. Food on the 15th, a program of the Coalition of Geriatric Services, operates on $0 overhead and delivers free groceries and toiletries to economically disadvantaged senior citizens in Jessup & Ellicott City, MD. In 4th grade, Taylor became involved with the organization through her school's community outreach. Devoted to improving the quality of life for pediatric oncology patients and their families, Cool Kids Campaign, headquartered in Towson, MD, focuses on the academic, social, and emotional needs brought on by a cancer diagnosis. www.heartofcharity.org

Letricia Loftin Russell Letricia Loftin Russell, Emcee, is the founder and host of Gospel Vogue, and can currently be heard throughout the U.S. on her national weekend, syndicated radio show. She is an award-winning gospel media personality, and has graced the morning airways in Trenton, Hampton Roads, Charlotte, Baltimore and Stellar Award winning internet station ishoutforjoy.com. She travels the East Coast, emceeing conferences, concerts and corporate events, and voices commercials, audio books and corporate voice mail greetings. Her work has landed her several awards and honors including Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary’s HOMETOWN HERO, and Virginia Union University’s Destiny Daughters. Stef Williams A graduate of Hampton University, and current Masters candidate at Eastern Theological Seminary - Maryland Campus, Loftin is the Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator of First Baptist Church of Glenarden’s non-profit arm, SHABACH! Ministries. Her joy of writing has allowed her to author “Not to Entertain You - The Ministry of Dance”. She is currently penning a dual book series and launched a line of scripture based scented soy candles. Pageantry is in her DNA. She is a pageant queen, judge, coach, director, and her favorite - pageant mom. Her daughter is the reigning Miss Hampton University. She has judged and coached for the Miss America Organization, Miss United States, and numerous others. Her ministry of pouring into young ladies landed her ownership of the Miss American Princess, and Miss US of A Pageants; and the blessing to launch and direct Cynthia Bailey’s Miss Renaissance Pageant; even making a cameo appearance on the television show, “Real Housewives of Atlanta”. With this busy schedule of her out-of-box ministry, and community service, Loftin recognizes and is grateful for her greatest gifts from above, her husband, Arthur Lee Russell, III, and their five children, Brianna (24), Brooklyne (23), Braxton (20), Kahlil (14), and Jada (10). Their love clothes her daily with the reminder in Psalms 23:5-6, “...thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”
Kennedy Williams
Kennedy Patrice Williams, MISTRESS OF CEREMONY & CHOREOGRAPHER, began her dance training 8 years ago and is currently with Future Destiny Dancers. She has been dancing competitively for over 7 years. Her first competition was part of a state pageant which she enjoys competing in on a regular basis. Kennedy has competed in tap, jazz and lyrical with lyrical being her favorite and has a first place for her lyrical solo in addition to several region titles in the lyrical genre. Kennedy’s passion for dance led her to open her own studio, KPW Dance, in the basement of her home where she teaches students dance and hold performances for the parents. She is also on the dance team at her high school in addition to being a competitive student. She a fulltime student seeking a career in dance instruction. She is also a part-time assistant dance instructor at a Ballet, Tap and All That Jazz. Kennedy has competed in various systems and reached one of her goals in competing in the Miss America System as the 2018 Miss Southern Maryland Outstanding Teen title and placed Top 10 in the State Pageant. She held the 2016 American Coed Miss DelMarva Jr. Teen title; the Maryland, DC, & VA State Talent title and 2nd place National Talent winner in that same system. She was the 2015 USA National Miss Maryland Jr. Teen.

Mariela Pepin
On Sunday, October 28, 2018 Mariela Pepin, Overall Judge, was crowned Miss Maryland USA 2019. Just five years ago, Mariela held the title of Miss Maryland Teen USA making her one of six young ladies to hold both titles in the state of Maryland. Mariela is 22 years old and a senior at Towson University, where she will complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies in December, 2018\. Mariela is from Severn, Maryland, where her family settled after traveling across the world while her father served in the United States Army. A graduate of Meade Senior High School, Mariela gained a passion for public speaking, volunteering, and languages while maintaining her excellent grades and extracurricular activities. Mariela is a native Spanish speaker, has studied French for seven years, and recently began learning American Sign Language. Mariela believes that the key to connecting with people is to learn about and become involved with various, diverse cultures. Upon completion of her degree, Mariela plans to further her education by obtaining a Master’s degree in Non-Profit Communications, which she hopes to use as she travels the world working as a Marketing and Public Relations Director for international charities.

Williams
Hailing from the nations capital, Mrs. LaTonya Williams, Overall Judge, is a former 2007 Miss District of Columbia’s Outstanding Teen. During her reign Mrs. Williams served as an ambassador for DC Tobacco Free Families and partnered with the Special Olympics and Children’s Hospital to give back to her community through her platform “Enabling the Disabled”. Upon completion of high school, Mrs. Williams went on to attend college at Hampton University where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, and a Master’s Degree in Sport Administration. During her collegiate experience, Mrs. Williams was a member of Ebony Fire, the dance team for the Hampton University Marching Band from 2009-2012. Mrs. Williams also became a member of the first African-American sorority in 2011, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Throughout the years, Mrs. Williams has continued to support her local communities and even communities nationwide. Through her sorority Mrs. Williams has been able to help so many people by feeding the homeless, collecting donations, cleaning public places, enriching and uplifting the less fortunate, mentoring children, and working with domestic violence victims. In 2014, Mrs. Williams volunteered with the Magic Johnson Foundation to produce his “Holiday Hope” Thanksgiving giveaway to families in need in Detroit, Michigan. During the 2015 SuperBowl, Mrs. Williams volunteered to help organize family and children’s events in Phoenix, Arizona. Currently, Mrs. Williams resides in Hampton, VA with her husband and three young children. As a stay-at-home mom, Mrs. Williams enjoys spending every day with her children with the flexibility of working as a Real Estate Agent.

Hung Trinh
Dr. Hung Trinh, Overall Judge is a medical scientist, working to support for the mission of the Department of Defense in vaccine development in Silver Spring, MD. However, his passion is in arts, beauty, modeling, fashion and joys throughout photo and videography with social media. Dr. Trinh presents the beauty throughout art work and empower young kids, women with their confidence, leadership and community service. He recently formed the Washington Pageant Entertainment and works with PageantLive (27K followers) and also interacts closely with The Umbrella Syndicate (35K followers) to promote many pageant and fashion productions. Dr. Trinh is also a co-producer with Pamela Privette of NYFW hiTechMODA (www.hiTechMODA.com) where he envisions the IT technology will drive the fashion industry together with 3D printing technology into the real life in next 5-10 years from now on. He welcomes all of us to join his NYFW hiTechMODA on Sep 06-07, 2019 in NYC. Dr. Trinh is also leading photo/video teams to cover the high-end NYFW productions such as Art Hearts Fashion, Couture Fashion Week and Takeover and an official videographer for DCFW. He also works with production teams of WEMOdel USA 2019 (international modeling competition), Queen Beauty USA (international pageant) and others... to empower of US-based models in the international platforms and legacy. Soibhan Connellan
Siobhan Connellan, Overall Judge, received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hood College where she majored in Management with a concentration in Business Administration and a minor in Advertising & Sales Promotion. While there she earned membership into the National Honorary Theater Fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega. Siobhan is an accomplished singer who has recorded radio commercials, sung the National Anthem at minor and major league sporting events, and performed in concert to celebrate the History of Women in the Arts. Professionally, she is the Director of Exhibitor Operations for Experient, the nation’s leading service provider to the tradeshow industry. Experient recently named her their Community Citizen of the Year due to her involvement with the Frederick Giving Project, the American Cancer Society and the Downtown Frederick Partnership of which she is a former member of the Board of Directors. She is also a Certified Tourism Ambassador. Siobhan is a former titleholder and has since judged Miss America preliminaries in 7 different states including Miss Maryland United States, Miss Maryland Teen USA, Miss Iowa, Miss Iowa’s Outstanding Teen, Miss New Mexico, Miss New Mexico’s Outstanding Teen, Miss Ohio’s Outstanding Teen and Miss Virginia’s Outstanding Teen. She resides in Frederick, MD.

John Morris, Overall Judge, is the founder of John Anthony Morris Fitness – Specializing in pageant fitness training for 15 years. He has been a Fitness Professional for 30 years and a Personal Trainer for 25 years. He has many credits to his name, among them: • • • • • • • • •

Brielle Simmons
Brielle Simmons, Optional Judge, is an active high school graduating senior who is serious about her education and future career. This is apparent by her successful completion of Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and her induction into the prestigious law program at her school. Brielle began her pageant journey 5 years ago, and has since won several State titles including Miss Maryland Junior Teen 2017 for the USA National Miss Pageant. She placed 4th runner-up for Teen USA Maryland at the age of 15. Brielle continues to enjoy pageantry, as well as the sisterhood that it promotes. In addition to pageantry, Brielle also takes joy in Runway Modeling. She recently modeled during the 2018 New York Fashion Week (NYFW) event. Brielle has a love for children and chooses activities that support her passion. A great deal of her time is spent at a local children’s hospital, where she volunteers to assist children who are patients there. She also tutors children and youth after school. Realizing that apathy towards financial responsibilities is common with today’s youth; Brielle started a financial literacy and economics club at her school. Brielle’s financial literacy club continues to have a positive impact on the student body. Brielle is also an advocate for homelessness, and has started a non-profit organization to support those in need. In her spare time Brielle likes to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys acting and has been cast in several commercials as a child. Brielle is proud to be a part of the graduating class of 2019! She is looking forward to graduation and continuing her education in law.

Sapna Delacourt, Optional Judge, is an Arlington, Virginia-based fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blogger and social media influencer. Her blog, Lunch With A Girlfriend, began in 2017 as a way to share her discoveries on style, health, and wellness during her years as a stay at home mom. Born and raised in Michigan, Sapna moved to Washington, D.C. after graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Political Science. She subsequently received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law School. She was a congressional aide on Capitol Hill for nearly a decade before deciding to stay at home with her three kids. Gwendolyn Collins, Optional Judge, is an independent singer, songwriter, executive producer and music tour promoter (creative artrepreneur). Gwendolyn has performed across the USA as well as in London, Manchester, Dartford, Essex, LowesLoft and Paris, France. Gwendolyn is co-owner of Independent Harmony Entertainment as well as The Virgo Lounge which is a vehicle to promote and support independent artist. Most recently, Gwendolyn was nominated for Best Female Artist by Soultracks.com

I can hardly believe that my reign as USA National Miss Maryland Princess has already ended. It feels like I was crowned just yesterday. This was an amazing opportunity and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. I know that this chapter as Maryland Princess is over, but I’m ready to turn the page and start a new one. This experience has proved to me that I am capable of doing anything I set my mind to. I’ll remember this year for the rest of my life. Emily Bourdon Soon my bittersweet moment will happen. I can’t believe 525,600 minutes are almost gone. Throughout my reign I put all my efforts into spreading UNM’s initiative, Crown C.A.R.E.S. across the nation. One of my favorite parts was being able to travel and support others #positivepageantry. USA National Miss has taught me so much; including pointing out things that I should value about myself and realizing things that can destroy my worth. Danielle Shook This year as USA National Miss Maryland Teen 2018 has been quite the experience! From all of the volunteer work to the national’s stage this is one system that will change your life. I joined this system not knowing what was in store for me. I had not competed in a pageant since I was 14, so winning the state title came as such a surprise to not only me but my entire family. Nationals was quite the time. I met so many new friends from all over the country. Walking on that stage gave me such an amazing feeling. Meeting Ashley Lauren was a great opportunity, and I cannot begin to explain how many long lasting friendships I have made. The USA National Miss system changed my life and gave me a year of memories that I will never forget. My advice to the new queens is that when you get to nationals do not stress about your stage performance, or act like you only want to win. Take a moment and look around and realize that you are a part of something huge. Enjoy the friends, the activities, and enjoy your sister queens because these are all of the things that make UNM such a Positive Pageant. 2018 National Miss Maryland Teen

My reign as USA National Miss Maryland 2018 has been Deciding to compete for this title after not competing in four confidence and self-reflecting. I had to remind myself of involved in pageantry in the first place; to be a positive young women and to help lower the childhood obesity awareness of my platform called “Living a Healthy and As I raise awareness for my platform I take pride in organizations and businesses that also believe in of making healthy nutritional choices and exercise daily routine. I had the opportunity to speak with 300 more elementary school students over the summer about my platform which was truly a blessing! I have also had a wonderful time getting close with my sister queens throughout my reign. We have had some great times together preparing for Nationals, competing at Nationals, doing photoshoots, visiting the White House, and doing appearances for the Holidays. To bring in the year of 2019, I had the great pleasure of being interviewed by Lee Michaels as a special guest on Grace and Glory, a gospel television channel, that aired on ABC 2- WMAR. I am forever grateful for the opportunity I had to represent the State of Maryland and make a positive impact on countless lives throughout the year. I hope to continue to make a difference throughout my life because someone once told me that “Life is not measured by how long you live, but by how many lives you change!”
