MCCEF (Mill Creek Cluster Education Foundation) is proud to sponsor the Miss Mill Creek and Mr. Mill Creek pageants. MCCEF's goal is to empower, enrich and enhance our future through the support of our schools, educators, and students. MCCEF provides a channel through which our community can directly impact the quality of education our students receive. State funding only carries us so far, and MCCEF is committed to bridging the gap that can carry our children forward on their educational journies. Because of fundraisers like Miss Mill Creek we were able to give back almost $10,000 in grants this past fall to the MC cluster schools, which include Duncan Creek Elementary, Fort Daniel Elementary, Harmony Elementary, Ivy Creek Elementary, Puckett's Mill Elementary, Jones Middle School, Osborne Middle School and Mill Creek High School. Upcoming fundraising events are the 3rd annual Golf Tournament at Hamilton Mill On August 27th and our first 5k, “Run The Creek� on February 24th!!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank eveyrone for coming and supporting the Miss Mill Creek Pageants. My hope for the Miss Mill Creek program is not only to be a fund raiser for the MCCEF, but to be a pageant that celebrates young women who are well-rounded, poised, intelligent, and leaders in our schools and community. The Miss Mill Creek program will facilitate volunteer opportunities for the contestants and representatives. This program is set in place to mentor and reach young ladies to inspire them to not only serve their schools, but also their community. The contestants and representatives
will have great opportunities as we link arms with other Gwinnett County High Schools in serving the Gwinnett community. I am honored to have the position of director and mentor to such an amazing group of girls and young ladies. As parents, you should be very proud! To the young ladies competing today, always remember the words of Harriett Tubman, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. You have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.� So, let your dreams begin! To the girls and young ladies who will be crowned today, get ready to have a fun and exciting year!

Your Choreoprapher & Stage Manager B rittany K okinos
Brittany Kokinos has held prior titles in the Miss Mill Creek scholarship pageants. She also was an honor graduate of Mill Creek High School class of 2011. While at Mill Creek, she was a Varsity Cheerleader and participated in numerous clubs, including SGA, National Honors Society, and Key Club. Brittany attended Georgia State University in Atlanta, where she was in the honors college. She graduated with her B.A. in Journalism and minor in Political Science. She is currently a 7th grade Special Education Language Arts teacher at Twin Rivers Middle School, where she teaches her students to be proud of their growth and take pride in their learning. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education through West Georgia University. She has been involved in pageantry for many years as a title holder in the National Teenager Scholarship Organization, National American Miss, and the Miss America Scholarship Organization. She has also choreographed and produced several pageants. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.

Alison Reid comes to us from Loganville, GA where she is the executive director at Dogwood Forest senior living in Grayson. Alison has been married 26 years to the love of her life of Wayne. She is also the mother of 2 daughters Taylor 25, who is the owner of Beauty Bar by Tay, a make up and hair studio in Suwanee, and Kacey 22, a Broadcast Journalism Major at Georgia Southern University graduating in the spring. Alison has been involved with pageantry for 36 years. First as a competitor and then a Pageant Mom. She was the director for Miss Georgia Christian pageants and served in the board of Miss Reigning America. Alison would like to wish all the contestants good luck tonight and remember to let your inner beauty shine.

Gwen Cheatham earned her bachelor and masters degrees from Clemson University where she was a cheerleader. She also earned a specialist degree from Georgia State. She worked for Gwinnett County school system as a teacher and counselor. Gwen has been involved in pageantry in several different levels: as a contestant, title holder, coach, director and judge. She enjoys reading, walking, small group Bible study, and working with young people.

Sylvia Sasso is no stranger to pageantry. She has been involved with pageantry for over 25 years as a contestant, mentor, mother, and judge and has been involved with the Miss USA and Miss America systems throughout her pageant career. She resides in Dacula, GA, and has been married for 21 years. She is the mother to three beautiful children, Sophia, Andrew and Christian. Her daughter, Sophia, has been involved with pageantry since the age of six and has held various National and State titles. In her spare time Sylvia enjoys traveling, tennis and volunteering in her community as well as spending time with her family. She wishes all the contestants the best of luck. CHARITY JOHNSON
is a multitalented singer, dancer, twirler and coach with more than 25 years of performing arts training and performance experience. A native of Waycross, Georgia, she trained extensively in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Baton Twirling and Acrobatics in her hometown.
Charity has 17 years of corporate communications experience working for a variety of brands like Cox Automotive, Chick-fil-A and CocaCola, but her true passions are singing, dancing, coaching and mentoring young women. At age 18, Charity was named Miss Satilla 1996, a Miss Georgia Pageant preliminary of the Miss America Pageant system. She earned the Francis Frazier Non-Finalist Talent Award at the 1996 Miss Georgia Pageant for her vocal rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Hero.” Charity competed in numerous other preliminary pageants while attending the University of Georgia (UGA), and she has emceed and performed at local pageants and talent competitions through the years. Dear Miss Mill Creek Contestants, I have been so thankful for this program; since the beginning! I first competed in Miss Mill Creek when I was in the 5th grade. In fact, it was my very first pageant. Did I win? - Nope! But it was ok. I loved every minute of it so I continued to try. I was honored to win the next year. In pageants - you win some, lose some and place in others. You should have the goal to win, however if that’s all you want out of it…you really won’t be satisfied no matter the outcome.
I’m currently chasing another dream in Entertainment at Walt Disney World. After graduating last year from Mill Creek I decided to audition to help make some magic with a few Disney Princesses. This too was a great deal of work to obtain, but I’m so happy to tell you that dreams do come true. Stay focused on what you desire, but keep seeking God in all things. Staying in His will is truly the key to a joyful life.

I’m thankful to Him, my family and Mill Creek for this honor that I will always hold dear.
I’ve grown so much from the years of competing. I’ve learned discipline, goalsetting, how to develop a strong work ethic and how to dream BIG! I’ve learned how to win gracefully but more importantly I’ve learned how to lose gracefully. Life is full of both experiences. We should start practicing while we are young.
