BCS SUMMER CAMPS

Established in 1836, Bishop’s College School (BCS) is a perfect blend of picturesque landscapes, historic architecture, and modern facilities, located just 160 km east of Montreal. During the school year we’re an approximately 270-student strong boarding and day school, but during the summer we’re home to one of the most fun and educational summer camps out there.

Location matters, and our 250-acre campus is perfectly situated at a short walk from the borough of Lennoxville and a short drive from downtown Sherbrooke—it’s the perfect balance of safe small-town convenience and big city accessibility. Our campus is surrounded by forests and watersport corridors, with athletic fields and biking trails right on our doorstep.
Both the English and French curricula o!er instruction at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Each level includes oral and written work, and o!ers a solid base in grammar and conversation.

Gain proficiency in English or French!
Improvement in spoken French and English is the focus, but supplementary study is given in reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Placement tests are administered at the beginning of camp and class tests are given on a regular basis. Reports are made available to parents at the conclusion of the month.

Our small class sizes emphasize individual attention and collaborative learning!
Classes are held six mornings and four evenings a week and usually consist of 14 to 20 students. This small class size allows for more individual attention for each student and yet the groups are large enough to maintain a healthy class spirit.
The residential atmosphere and small classes provide the ideal situation for the benefit of all students!
Courses are conducted by a team of carefully selected, qualified, and enthusiastic teachers. The residential atmosphere and small classes provide the ideal situation for the benefit of all students, regardless of their level of achievement. Bright, pleasant study areas, modern methods, and a flexible program provide us with the means to assist students in their work.
When you aren’t in the classroom, there will be plenty of fun sports and activities to do with your new friends. Throughout the four weeks you’ll have the opportunity to participate in supervised team sports and activities in the evening. We o!er soccer, tennis, softball, volleyball, squash, basketball, flag football, ultimate frisbee, and more. Our o!-campus activities include swimming, canoeing, laser tag, bowling, and much more.
On Saturday evenings and Mondays, there are planned activities such as dances, water slides, trips to amusement parks, and more.
A nurse is on duty 24 hours a day and serious medical problems are referred to one of the Sherbrooke area hospitals 15 minutes away.
All students who are not residents of Quebec, Canada will be covered by the school’s medical insurance policy. This amount is included in the international student fee.
