This issue of BodyScape Magazine is overflowing with beautiful content! Starting off with our stunner of a cover model Jennifer Dixon, and how she is able to wear all the hats of motherhood, being an amazing wife, a dedicated athlete AND bikini competitor. I’m tired just thinking about all this amazing lady does to make the world a better place. In all reality though, Jennifer exemplifies dedication not just in fitness, but in all aspects of her life, and she is highly admired over here at BodyScape Magazine. I loved doing her shoot because she wasn’t trying to hide anything. The photos tell a story of amazing confidence in Jennifer, and I admire her for sharing it with us! It’s been over a month since Monica and I got back from our Epic Destination Shoot in Miami. (Heavy sigh~) It was the shoot of a lifetime and part of me wishes we were still there. In the Epic Destination Shoot Miami RECAP section, you’ll meet each of the ladies that was photographed during the four days we were there shooting, including one that may look familiar to you. :) I wrote a little something about each model, and where you can follow them. One of the things I loved most about this shoot is the absolute variety of the images that were taken. Many people think of Miami as being just a beach atmosphere…well, it was that and so much more. I’m all about offering up variety with each location, and if you love this, wait until you see what I have up my sleeve for Epic Destination Shoot Miami 2022! (Coming your way late January, 2022!) You also get to meet someone that is new on the “taking care of Sarah” team, Dr. Sean Drake my new chiropractor. Personally, I think we need to coin a new term for Sean that defines all of the services he provides, which is everything you need to feel great again. He’s more of a whole wellness doc that focuses on what each individual body needs. He does acupuncture, acupressure, chiro, and so much more. Based in Scottsdale, Sean has a full schedule of pro athletes, and now he has a pro photographer on his roster too. I’m excited to share his info with you so you can go see him…if he still has time once his article is released! Take it from me, after 14 full time years of shooting and traveling to do the shoots, my body has paid the price, and Dr. Sean has me on a complete plan of recovery. Karen Mullarkey also shares her expertise as the BodyScape Magazine “Fitness Connection”, and since it’s summer, it’s only natural to talk about obtaining and KEEPING that bikini body we long for! Why just have for part of the year? Here in Arizona, it is summer ten months out of each year, so I know tat MY personal goal is to achieve and maintain from here on out! BodyScape Magazine is currently booking shoots not only in Scottsdale, Arizona, but we are also gearing up for Epic Destination Shoot Sedona September 17-20, 2021! It’s a limited schedule, but Monica and I would LOVE to work with you on the photo shoot of your dreams during that time. You can head to EpicDestinationShoot.com for further info, or simply shoot us an email at EpicDestinationShoot@Gmail.com to find out more info! Thank you so much for your support of BodyScape Magazine!

Letter from the

Associate Editor Monica Brant

As a young girl I had many Barbie dolls and pink was and still is, my favorite color. When I met Jennifer, it took me back those younger years reminiscing about my favorite dolls. As you can see from this beautiful cover, Jennifer is a real like Barbie, except for the fact that she has some great muscles and I do not recall Barbie having any. Working with Jennifer was easy breezy. She has done enough photos to feel comfortable in front of a camera and with her super lean physique, the poses fell right in place. When Sarah shared a sneak peek to the pink cover with Jennifer, I fell in love! It was my favorite color, and it was perfect for our super fit, real life Barbie! It could not have been more fitting! Of course, all of Jennifer’s images are stunning, she did not have an unfavorable side or angle and looking at her pretty waistline you would never dream she gave birth to two boys. She is a great example of being a mom that has maintained her own health and care. Right around the same time we did Jennifer’s cover shoot back-end of 2020 -Sarah started discussing hosting Epic Miami Destination shoot, sharing her vision of the shoot and how it could roll out. I can not honestly believe that time flew by so quickly and we are now almost 2 months past Epic Miami. The shoot could not have gone any smoother, from our killer beach front home base of the ‘W’ to the variety of set ups just inside our trendy penthouse, all our clients participating ended up with marvelous images and content. Did I mention that 2 of our clients had no previous shooting experience either! From uber talented Lisa Opie with HMA to Jina and her energizing DJing IN OUR PENTHOUSE to the (yummy) sponsored meals Eatology.co sent and liquid gold, EggWhites International, we had a wildly successful Epic Destination Shoot!

I have a story, too After discovering I was born with a congenital heart condition in 2014, I knew it was time to tell my story about what led to my heart attack at the age of 39. I also knew it was time to help others do the same. As a result, after many years of interviewing people about their life-changing experiences, my personal wake-up call was the push I needed to evaluate my own vulnerabilities. I was forced to answer the question, “Why do women put so much pressure on themselves to do it all?”

After a lot of soul-searching, I finally had to face my own fears. Today, I am grateful to have survived the physical scars, however, the emotional healing continues. During my health crisis, I learned that our stories make us who we are, but they don’t define us. Are you interested in sharing your story with a worldwide audience? Have you got an inspiring story? BodyScape Magazine Cover Model Feature

BEAUTY & BRAINS By Kerrie Lee Brown BodyScape Magazine Celebrity Profile Writer Jennifer Dixon hails from Winfield, Indiana and she’s a woman on a mission. At 37 years young, she has an MBA in Business Administration not currently working in her field; instead, she enjoys being a stay-at-home mom. Although this firecracker is one smart cookie—with obtaining her bikini bodybuilding Pro card top of mind.

“I’ve always wanted to get my Pro card. I started doing bodybuilding in 2016 and that’s when I got hooked. I used to do marathon running [but] my hips wouldn’t let me run 26 miles anymore.”

23

Determined to be the best mom, wife, and person she can be to ensure her family has the best life possible—and aspirations to maybe one day get a master’s degree in sports medicine or training—this month’s cover girl proves you can be a scholar and a stellar mom at the same time. Setting a good example for her kids is key. Going to the gym is a family affair. Jennifer’s preteen boys (12 and 10) have already embraced exercise and education about eating well. They go to the gym with her and her husband and all four are extremely active—with the boys heavily into basketball and baseball. Pre-pandemic, Jennifer and her husband also traveled regularly for bodybuilding shows and look forward to more competitions this summer. After all, “the couple who work outs together, stays together,” she says. Jennifer knows what she wants. She wants to live a healthy life and have fun doing the things she loves most. For her that’s spending time with her kids, training, eating clean, and preparing for her next appearance on the bodybuilding stage. We are honored to share her inspiring story of strength in BodyScape Magazine and reveal how she balances the kids, life, and marriage, and still has time to pump out serious reps in the gym.

26

27

28

How did you meet your husband? “I worked for a few years before I had children. Very long hours. But I didn’t want to be the type of mom who was never there. Luckily my husband works so I don’t have to. I met him and my life changed. Our story? Mark is a cardiac surgeon, and he did surgery on my dad when I was a child, so it was meant to be. I was nineteen when we met, and I worked in hospital administration at the time. My husband is 22 years older than me. I love him to death. He’s my soul mate.”

What are you passionate about? “I’m passionate about the things I love; my husband, marriage, my kids, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Inner drive is what keeps it going. I think it’s a matter of how you feel about yourself. I always want to keep improving. I don’t [ever] want to get bored. [The] boys are always watching you. They see everything happening.”

29

What are your aspirations in life? “I want to continually improve myself. In other words, I want to become the best version of myself. I also want my husband and children to be proud of me. I want to see my children grow up and thrive and know that I played a big part in that.”

Have you had to overcome any obstacles that have been good life lessons for you today? “I’ve had to overcome a lot of self-doubt and depression. Some of my past struggles have made me fearful of being myself and took my confidence away. After becoming a mom, I struggled with image. I thought I was being selfish for wanting to work out because it took time away from my family as some people in my life contributed to those thoughts at the time—even though I used to take time to go running before I had kids and ran all throughout my pregnancies.”

30

31

32

You said that everyone experiences the same thing in different degrees, what do you mean by that? “Moms who take time for themselves to look a certain way are often given a bad rap and it made me very self-conscious. It took me a while, maybe it comes with age, but I finally found the strength inside to overcome that feeling. I feel like I gained a lot of respect from it, too. So many women I know feel similar—the guilt factor for making themselves a priority—that’s why I want to be a positive example for other women.”

What made you decide to shoot for BodyScape Magazine? “I started doing photoshoots a few years ago and got hooked. A few girls I follow tagged Bodyscape Magazine in their posts, and I thought the photos were incredible—so I decided to look into PictureGroove Photography and everything Sarah had to offer. It sounded great! I always wanted to be in a magazine, so it was a no brainer to want to shoot with Sarah Lyons.”

I have always been a marathon runner; even during my first pregnancy. I only stopped when I couldn’t run anymore. With my second one, I didn’t do marathons, but I still ran the entire time; and did the elliptical machine. I was lucky I never really had what you’d call ‘pregnancy weight.’ Just a belly.

33

34

35

What was your experience like shooting with Sarah Lyons and Monica Brant for BodyScape Magazine? “I had done several photo shoots in the past but nothing so extravagant. This was also my first time for a magazine. I think all professional shoots have the same feeling of excitement, but this was the first time I had worked with two women. It was a totally different vibe and I loved it. Women just get it in front and behind the camera.”

What are you currently working on personally and professionally that you’d like to share? “I’m still working on achieving my Pro card in bikini bodybuilding. I will never give up on fitness; and I’m always constantly working on being a better wife and mother.”

What is something you truly believe in? “I believe in love and family. Family is the most important thing and love is what holds it all together. I love my family and will always fight for them. I also believe in fitness and health. I will never stop working on it.”

What is something people don’t know about you? “There are stereotypes about women especially if you don’t work. I have an education and yet I am a stay-at-home mom. I’m also more of a quieter type of person. I’ve always been reserved. I’d rather observe and study what’s going on around me than be the center of attention.”

36

37

38

39

40

When did you finally feel like you knew who you were? “[Admittedly] I really didn’t get comfortable in my own skin until the age of thirty. In my twenties, I was very insecure. I wasn’t sure who I was in my twenties having babies. In my thirties, I eventually figured out who I was for the first time in my life. I realized I didn’t have to compare myself to others. That was a real turning point.”

Why is it important for women to be self-confident like you have in these pages? “It’s so important for women to show selfconfidence because for many years society told women that their opinions didn’t count or [that they] shouldn’t be heard. Looking back on that part of history makes me think that way of thinking was silly. Women are independent and strong and are fully capable of having opinions that are important—and often even more productive than their male counterparts. I am not a feminist, but I do believe that women are more empowered today and we should support each other any way we can.”

What else can women do? “Women today are CEOs of major companies, political leaders, and have demonstrated the ability to be every bit the equal of their male counterparts. A strong woman should not threaten a man, however, should be seen as his equal.”

I’d love to do more photo shoots after getting my Pro card.

41

42

43

44

45

How do you overcome failure? “In bodybuilding you go in with high expectations and if you don’t win, you’re disappointed in yourself. But it’s a good lesson. If you don’t get it you have to ask yourself, ‘Am I doing this for the right reasons?’ Because at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose. I just love the process of making a goal and working towards it. This is the example I want to set for my kids. My coach helps me through the ups and downs when competing.”

Any parting words of inspiration? “Find something you truly enjoy and chase it with all of your being—whether it’s [your] family, fitness, or business. Take it from me, it’s definitely worth it.”

The Art of Being an Athlete By Dr.Sean Drake owner of Athlete Chiropractic Scottsdale, Arizona athletechiropractic.com

Fashion, Fitness, Wellness, and Art… 4 areas that form a healthy and vibrant human. The best performance you can make in your life is to invest in yourself. Your outside and outlook is often a reflection of your inside and insight. There are 4 areas when I work with elite athletes that propel the body and mind to the next level and they go perfect with the core values of Body Scape Magazine. Bill Bowerman once said, “If you have a body, you’re an athlete”. Too many of us have forgotten the athlete inside, the dreams and goals we made, or the patience to see them through. The key thing here is to have a game plan and have a team to support you. Here’s our philosophy to success in sport and life:

1. Equipment = Fashion As having the right equipment is to sport; the right fashion is to life. There’s a reason the quote “dress to impress” is so important to your performance and why sometimes we only have one shot at a great impression. Research has shown that what you wear affects how you will show up in life and how people will show up for you.

2. Physical = Fitness Do you know your potential? Screening an athlete is a tool we use to see what they can do and how efficient they can be. We use this to set the right goals and expectations. One of the biggest reasons people do not follow through is they do not have the right plan for success and often they have not been evaluated for where they are. If you are setting a fitness goal, make sure to have a professional test what you can physically do with where you are and then create a plan from there. This way you can minimize frustration and potential injury and maximize your dreams.

50

3. Mental = Wellness Mental health and peak performance are what the best of the best have to master in order to make the winning shot, take home the gold, or run a successful company as CEO. Three areas that you can work on that will help ensure this is in your life are mediation, proper nutrition, and someone to work with you on your body.

4. Technique = Art Moving the body in the most efficient and strongest way possible is an art much like the way a painter finds the perfect combination of colors and a photographer the best lighting and angles. Time, energy, and an ability to think outside the box are all needed to create the best athletes. And just as every writer has a unique process, the technique used to find the way your body moves at it’s best will always depend on each individual person and their personal goals. To respect the body and want what’s best for our health, means treating the body as a masterpiece of art. Just as we use these 4 areas to help elite athletes win in sport; I hope you can use these 4 areas to succeed in your life.

Epic Destination Shoot Miami Model: Monica Monica Brant is not only one of the biggest fitness Icons of our time, but she is also the co-founder of Epic Destination Shoots! Monica plays a huge role with the Epic Destination Shoots AND with BodyScape Magazine as the official Associate Editor. When Monica is with me on set, she is there to help to perfect the model’s photo shoot experience. She brings her 30+ years of knowledge in fitness/ photo shoots to the forefront, and works with our clients one-on-one with posing coaching to turn their shoot from awesome to amazing. One little move here or there makes a huge difference! She is also there for detail assistance, which helps me (and the model) from 20 feet away, when I am behind my lens. The Epic Destination Photo Shoot experiences are what they are hugely in part of Monica’s presence and involvement on the shoot. I always wind up capturing AMAZING images of her too! Epic Destination Shoot Miami Model: Amanda Amanda Black is no stranger to the camera. When she first booked the Epic Destination Shoot in Miami, I was blown away by her outstanding portfolio, & I was VERY excited to create with her. Her look to me is Sports Illustrated meets Maxim, and that’s the vibe I wanted to bring out in our time together. When I was reviewing all of Amanda’s proofs when I got back from Miami, I was blown away by all of the different looks of the images we shot. This stunning beach shot was captured right on South Beach, at about 6:30 in the morning. We photographed an additional six looks on Amanda that day, and a couple of her fashion looks are what I am most excited about! You’ll see Amanda on the cover of the Holiday 2021 Issue of BodyScape Magazine. Follow Amanda on Instagram @Amanda.blacklabel

Epic Destination Shoot Miami Model: Ekat “Ekat” and I worked together numerous times when she was living in the U.S. We met through a mutual friend at a Fitness Universe Show that Ekat was competing in. She took the title that year by the way! Ekat has a mystery to her that radiates through my lens, and I’ve always just followed her moves when we shoot. This time around, she brought her tango moves with her, and it was a dance between photographer and model. I never try to pose her, she is the kind of model that you just let flow on her own. Ekat moved back to her home country of Georgia a few years ago, and when she found out about Epic Destination Shoot Miami, she didn’t hesitate to book a shoot with us! Her travels time was 18 hours just to get to Miami from Georgia! Needless to say, I am full of gratitude for my relationship with Ekat. You’ll see her gracing the cover of the October 2021 Issue of BodyScape Magazine. Follow Ekat on Instagram

Epic Destination Shoot Miami Model: Jina Jina Chavis is a remarkable human being, and a Miami local. I’ve worked with Jina on photo shoot projects since 2009, so when Monica and I decided to build this photo shoot project, it was only natural for me to reach out to Jina to see if she’s like to be involved. Her talents are endless. Her main “gig” is that she is a reputable esthetician, and after that she is one of the most amazing spray tan artists I’ve ever worked with. On top of that she is a DJ, and little did we know that our photo shoot location would turn in to more of a “photo shoot lounge”, thanks to Jina! She was there and available to play music for all of us during the shoots, which made the experience all that more remarkable. Jina also leant all of her available hands to take some behind the scenes images of the shoots, even at 6 in the morning. I’m super grateful for you Jina! Follow Jina on Instagram

Epic Destination Shoot Miami Model: Laura Laura Chao blows me away every single time we shoot together. She first came to shoot with Monica and I at our first Epic Texas photo shoot back in 2019, for her 50th birthday! It was love at first sight for all involved, and Laura has come to shoot with us ever since, each chance she gets. One of those chances landed her the cover of Issue 11 of BodyScape Magazine, that we photographed in my home town of Scottsdale, Arizona. I am obsessed with the content that was captured of Laura this go around, this time, in HER home town of Miami. You can literally put anything on Laura and it looks amazing. She is awesome with direction and being posed, and each shoot with her turns out better than the last. Follow Laura on Instagram

Epic Destination Shoot Miami Model: Lisa Lisa Opie was our designated “Glam artist” for Epic Destination Shoot Miami 2021. I was referred to Lisa via several different people, thanks to me taking the time to do that thing where you ask for a recommendation on Facebook! Believe me…it actually works, and man am I glad that I thought to do that! Lisa is a straight up prodigy in her field. She’s got a work ethic beyond anything I’ve ever seen from someone of her young age. I’m VERY selective with photo shoot glam on the models I work with, and Lisa took charge, and knew EXACTLY what I was looking for, even in different lighting conditions. It’s like her initial application is flexible and rolls through all types of different lighting scenarios. And when she got her hands on ME and I was happy, I knew we have a keeper in Lisa Opie! {Lisa will be back for Epic Destination Shoot Miami 2022, so stay tuned for details on dates soon} Follow Lisa on Instagram

Epic Destination Shoot Miami Model: Meli I’d never met Meli before, and I am so glad I did. She is a ray of sunshine that bursts through the clouds. Her positive mindset and healthy energy is infectious! She was with us on the shoot because of Monica, as Meli is what I call a “Monica Brant super-fan”. Meli is a Miami local, specializing in wellness coaching and selfimprovement with her clients. It’s always so fun to provide these incredible photo shoot opportunities for fans to come and shoot with Monica on set, and that is one of the things that makes our Epic Destination Shoot opportunities so special! Epic Destination Shoot Miami Model: Min Min Kim is has been around the gym in her life. No stranger to fitness competitions in her life, Min brought her “A-Game” to the shoot. She’s also no stranger to fitness photo shoots, yet this was the first time that she and I had worked together. Being a busy Mom and a wife can unravel anyone’s personal schedule, so I give kudos to Min for always carving out time for the gym, and making it a priority! Min and her husband Mike were on the shoot, and had never experienced shoot experience quite like the one we laid out for Epic DestinationShoot Miami. Epic Destination Shoot Miami Model: Renee I am so enamored with Renee. She is a VERY busy Mom, owns a gymnastics school, and barely has time to tie her shoes in the morning, let alone book a major magazine shoot with me in Miami! Not to mention this was her first big photo shoot experience EVER. So, why not go big the first time? Renee brought a total package with her to the shoot in Miami. She was prepared, excited, and ready to work. We got a great variety of looks from Renee, that truly blew my mind. When you have an amazing team, and also the support of your loved ones, it makes the experience so much more rewarding. Follow Renee on Instagram @reneechantharat

Epic Destination Shoot Miami Model: Yvette One of my favorite parts of what I do for a living is cultivating relationships. Yvette came to a shoot that Monica and I were doing with Kristie Kwan last summer in Austin Texas. Kristie had spread the word to her friends about the photo shoots that Monica and I were doing, so Yvette had a rare opportunity to come see us work (with Kristie) before she ever booked a shoot! When Yvette knew that we were for sure booking Miami, she booked immediately, and we began planning! Yvette, like many of the women we work with is a very busy professional, and she really felt like it was time to do something amazing for herself. She is a professional dog trainer, and I can only imagine that may be somewhat of a taxing career. But Yvette shined like a big bright diamond on her photo shoot, and she was also a first-timer too! The shoot was a HUGE success because Yvette was prepared and our team was available to her to assist on a whim. I love working with first time clients! Follow Yvette on Instagram @yvette.campos723

Top 10 Summer Skin Protectors: Aloe Vera, Veggies & Fruits By Karen A. Masterson Koch

Skin takes a beating year round, yet summer comes with extra abuses that truly require the A -Team. A is for Aloe and Vitamin A rich foods, both critical if you want to have the best skin protection. At the top of the list of summer skin protectors is a quality Aloe Vera. Topically it, gives an advantage for fast skin support, increasing Type I Collagen, UV protection, First Aid relief for sunburns and injury, and also support for chronic troubled skin. Acne, Rosacea, Eczema, Psoriasis, rashes and scarring all respond well to a quality Aloe Vera topical. Internally, Aloe Vera taken before meals as a supplement supports the inside for improved digestion and absorption of valuable skin nutrients. The extra bioavailability of nutrients is significant for skin and ignites energy and immunity, too. Remember, it’s not just what you put on the skin, but what you put in the body and absorb into the cells that truly counts!

Actions of Aloe Vera & Vitamin A Rich Foods • Healthy Skin & Anti-Aging • First Aid & Type I Collagen • Body Immunity & UV Protection Improving dietary choices and good water intake can sometimes take a little time. By taking small steps you can develop better habits. Just add one new food each week or kick up the quantity of veggies and fruits with every opportunity for big results. A great new habit may be reaching first for the apple, orange or Kiwi with some raw nuts and seeds or peanut butter, and keeping the dry snacks lower.

76

Targeting the dark yellow, orange and green-colored foods will kick up your Vitamin A levels which the skin and body both thrive on. These same foods come with other important skin nutrients as well like Vitamin C, Bioflavonoids, E, B-Complex and essential fats and oils that slow aging of all cells. Focus on healthy skin and it will set the stage for a healthy body. Also, remember protein! Protein is essential for building cells in the first place. Get a variety, half your body weight in grams per day, approximately 50 – 100 grams for adults. Proteins rely on the other nutrients from foods, as a team, to build hormones, immunity and digestive enzymes, as well as skin cells. The entire human body is made of cells, just specialized by individual DNA according to each cell’s function. Mind you, these days many people, both children and adults, do not receive adequate quality protein & other nutrients and, therefore, do not digest foods well.

Why is Aloe Vera Both a Skin & Body Supplement? The ancient herbalists wrote about the Aloe Vera plant as an Elixir — safe for any ailment and often referring to it as the Skin Plant. Internally, they used the bitter yellow sap from the whole leaf for improved digestion, constipation, infection, water retention, ulcers and pain. Topically, they made poultices for any injury, burn, ulcers, rashes, infections and pain as well. Hundreds of research papers now confirm the pathways of action of a quality Aloe Vera product, or using the plant itself. The bitters and sulfur compounds support improved digestion. Astringents, disinfectants, natural antiinflammatory, anti-bacterial and antiviral agents assist in wound healing. The glyconutrients and growth factors stimulate new cells and collagen in record time for stronger connective tissues and even reverse scarring, plus evening out skin tones. Note: Any caution to use is due to its cathartic action of the bowels. If diarrhea occurs, reduce the daily amount.

What is special about Vitamin A? Focusing on skin with more vitamin A brings additional benefits. Highly-researched Vitamin A supports any skin condition and gives a super charge to immune response. Most skin cancers are associated with a low level of Vitamin A in the skin. Vitamin A also supports bones, soft tissue, mucus membranes, mouth, eye/vison, heart, lungs, kidneys and other organs. Vitamin A is found in fruits, vegetables, livers of fish and animals, egg yolk and fish oils. It is required in very large amounts to keep the skin healthy and immunity functioning. It also provides anti-aging benefits. Foods containing Vitamin A will have an abundance of other essential skin nutrients.

Top 10 Skin Protectors Water: Dermatologist and nutritionist agree that dehydration is the most harmful omission to health of the modern man, woman or child of today. Healthy skin and body require half your body weight in ounces or at least 6 – 8 glasses of water per day. Diuretics and heavy perspiration will increase the requirements.

Aloe Vera The question with a good Aloe is; “what doesn’t it do?” Besides being a catalyst for improved digestion, drinking Aloe helps maintain healthier cellular water levels due to its content of macro and micro trace minerals. The entire plant, called Whole Leaf, contains over 100 actives that support digestion, detoxification and bio-availability of food nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Actives include infection fighter saponins, pain relievers’ salicylic acid, bradikinase and lupeol, immune balancers polysaccharides, sterols and sterolins, plus the growth factor gibberellin and more. These actives are responsible for this unique herb’s broad applications of repair and renewal of skin and more. Look for the ActivAloe trademark showing quality and Concentrated Whole Leaf juice products for fast action and effectiveness.

Peppers All peppers, all colors, contain high Vitamin A and C (highest food source), plus a variety of other skin nutrients known as anti-oxidants. The dark red color shows more phytonutrients supporting immunity and a sweeter taste.

Carrots, Yams & Squash Root vegetables and squash are available year round and are great choices for Vitamin A. Carrots are one of the best sources. Steamed, raw, or juiced carrots contain important antioxidants shown to slow aging and protect the skin from pollutants, even cancer. Skin replication and immune function are both heightened greatly. The vegetarian source of Vitamin A is Beta-carotene, named from the carrot. Its downside is it requires a healthy liver to process it to help build skin cells. Fish Oil Vitamin A, on the other hand, gets absorbed directly into the blood stream. Chew all raw veggies carefully to help make the nutrients more available for absorption.

Dark Orange & Colored Fruits Papayas, oranges, Kiwis and berries are packed with the anti-oxidants Vitamin A, C, E and phytonutrients. They support every function of the body and healthy cells, especially remarkable for support to allergies and immunity. Peel fruits and avoid berries with advanced mold allergies. Leafy Greens All greens including Kale, Chard, Spinach, Mustard Greens, Green Lettuces, Cilantro, Watercress and Parsley are best eaten raw or lightly steamed and are packed with skin and body nutrients including minerals. Minerals are very important to build healthy skin including wound healing. They are great for detoxification and immunity as well and are often found in supplemental greens formulas.

Chlorella & Red Sea Algae Classed as super foods, they are harvested from fresh water and ocean salt water and contain an extraordinary variety of important nutrients. Very high in Vitamin A and Chlorophyll, they are often added to supplements of daily greens formulas to support body wellness.

Raw Almonds & Pumpkin Seeds Healthy eating often includes a small handful of raw nuts and seeds (as tolerated) to support valuable protein and Vitamin E, plus minerals like Zinc and silica, required for healthy skin and body.

Broccoli & Brussel Sprouts These two foods (including cauliflower) are in the “cruciferol food class” and contain healthy natural sulfur and an abundance of other minerals for bone, joint, skin and body health.

Avocados Besides being delicious, this fruit is fairly high in Vitamin E and other natural fats and healthy essential oils. All fat soluble vitamins like A, E, D, EFA and K require healthy oils to be properly absorbed into the cells for good skin and body health. Optimum Health of the body and skin doesn’t just happen — it takes effort. The only side effect of eating new foods and taking Aloe is improved health. Most people want to look their best and feel good, yet statistics of troubled skin including skin cancer, are soaring. So why not control our destiny and begin to make easy, natural and tasty choices today. Enjoy!
