Society Driven Design

Page 1

Society Driven Design explores how we can all make a difference, using the most advanced design process known to man - the conversation. We will explore nuanced components for long term collaborative conversations that can foster the space for meaningful change. Real change like InHouse Records, the extraordinary story of the worlds first functioning record label to have been co-created in a UK prison. Learn how a record label became a label for change so powerful that it is spreading across UK and USA prisons. Defining and equipping the role of the designer, Society Driven Design introduces The Social License, a twenty first century vehicle for collaborative conversations nurturing meaningful long term societal change. Judah Armani is an educator and practitioner, having spent the last twenty years applying society driven design across the phenomena of homelessness and the criminal justice system. He is a multi award winning designer and has academic posts at The Royal College of Art, Musashino Art University and the Center for Complexity at Rhode Island School of Design.
