WHO WE ARE Birthright Israel is the leading Jewish education organization in the world that engages directly with Jewish young adults and allows them to forge a powerful connection with their Jewish identity and Israel. In just 22 years, Birthright Israel has provided a transformational experience for more than 800,000 participants from 68 countries. A Birthright Israel trip is often the first independent Jewish decision participants make, allowing them to explore their Jewish identity and how they fit into the Jewish community. Birthright Israel provides participants with the opportunity to see Israel for themselves. In today’s current climate there has never been a more critical time to invest in our program. Surrounded by antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiments across social media and on-campus, young Jews must learn in-person about our homeland and our people in Israel. It is imperative to provide them with the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge about Israel and the confidence needed to be proud Jews. With the Onward Israel merger, we can now offer our participants as well as other Jewish young adults the opportunity to experience Israel through a mid-length internship program.

Birthright Israel participants are 93% more likely to feel “very much” connected to Israel.
Our alumni are both professional and lay leaders in the Jewish community.
84% of Birthright Israel participants that are parents are raising their children Jewish.

THE COST OF BIRTHRIGHT ISRAEL Did you know it costs $4,500 to send each participant and $180,000 to fund an entire Birthright Israel bus? This year we are able to provide this life-changing gift to 35,000 Jewish young adults thanks to our generous supporters and the reserves we built up over the last two years. As we look to 2023 and beyond, this will not be the case. Due to inflation, costs have increased. We need you and the entire Jewish community to help us maximize the number of future participants who can begin their Jewish journey on Birthright Israel.
