GETTING TO CAMPUS
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The Biopôle campus is located at the end of the M2 metro line, with two metro stations – Vennes and Croisettes – providing direct access to campus. Get to Lausanne city center in less than ten minutes.
MOBILITY
Need a car for a quick trip or client visit? Car sharing service Mobility has ten vehicles available for pick-up on the Biopôle campus, four of which are electric. You’ll find them at the following locations:

• P+R Vennes

• Avenue de Valmont
• Chemin des Croisettes
With electric bikes, getting up to Epalinges is easier than ever. There are several parking options on site. The Vélostation on Route de la Corniche offers charging points and lockers.
PARKING
On-site parking is limited. We therefore advise you to travel by public transport. Some companies have a small number of parking spaces reserved for employees– you may wish to check with your manager.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, Biopôle SA has undertaken numerous initiatives to increase green spaces across the campus. The buildings are constructed in accordance with Minergie standards and incorporate solar panels as well as advanced temperature regulation systems.

With six on-site restaurants and a different food truck every day, our campus is packed with food and drink options. You’ll find weekly menus and pre-order information on the MyBiopôle app
The shared kitchen on the first floor of the Lysine building is one of four indoor communal eating areas on campus.

HELP IS AT HAND
Whether you’re having issues connecting to the Wi-Fi or accessing your office, you can always get in touch with us. Create a ticket in the MyBiopôle app and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Edificom is our preferred IT service provider. Edificom supplies:
• Free visitor Wi-Fi to all shared meeting rooms
• Integrated fibre-optic internet access for all buildings on campus

URBAGESTION is responsible for maintaining campus buildings, managing waste and running exterior facilities, including on-site security and car, bike and motorbike parking surveillance. URBAGESTION manages technical maintenance and cleaning of communal areas in all buildings, except the Glycine building (which is managed by Facilitim). It also maintains the free shared meeting rooms on campus.

SPORT AND EXERCISE
Movement is great for both body and mind – and yet most of us don’t do enough of it. Luckily, there’s a range of classes available on or near campus, with options for everyone.
UNISANTÉ CLASSES
Whether you’re into stretching, qigong, core strengthening or back-friendly workouts, Unisanté offers something for everyone throughout the week, in the Arginine building.
SMALL ON-CAMPUS CLASSES
From Pilates with Vanessa on Mondays to outdoor workout sessions with Laure on Tuesdays, there’s a session to suit every style at Biopôle. Most run at lunchtime, but schedules may vary. Check the MyBiopôle app for updates.
LET’S GO FITNESS
Let’s Go Fitness Epalinges is located 300 m from campus. Biopôle members enjoy 30% off a 12-month membership, valid in more than 70 fitness centres across Switzerland. In addition, the nearby NonStop Gym centre is open 24 hours a day and offers affordable rates.

Planning to bike to work or head out for a midday run? There are shower facilities all over campus:

SUPPORT FOR PARENTS
Balancing work and parenting can be a juggle. We provide on-campus facilities to make things a little easier.
Lactation room
In the Lysine building, a private dedicated lactation room is provided for mothers who wish to express breast milk. The room is equipped with an armchair, books and a small table. It is possible to lock the door. To access please contact URBAGESTION.
On-site nursery
Ma crèche sous les étoiles has space for 90 children aged three to four years, with 30 places reserved for campus employees – and subsidised by Biopôle SA. The nursery is open on weekdays from 6:30 to 18:30.
HEALTHCARE FACILITIES
The Biopôle campus offers a range of healthcare facilities, including a medical centre, a dental surgery, a physiotherapist and a radiology service –so appointments don’t need to take a chunk out of your day. There’s a blood donation centre too, meaning you can give blood with minimal hassle.

DONATING BLOOD SAVES LIVES
Located in the Metio building, the blood donation centre allows members to donate blood with or without an appointment. From the initial health screening, the whole process takes roughly 45 minutes.
You won’t leave hungry either: following your donation, the nurses will give you sandwiches, cookies and juice to help restore your energy levels.

DEFIBRILLATORS AND FIRST AID CLASSES
Each building on the Biopôle campus is equipped with defibrillators. If your building has two entrances, make sure you can visualise where it is in case of emergency.
Samaritains Vaud organises regular first aid courses for both individuals and companies. Check out the options online:

AQUATIS AQUARIUMVIVARIUM LAUSANNE
The largest freshwater aquarium in Europe is located right here at Biopôle. It takes visitors on a journey across continents to discover more than 300 different species, 10,000 freshwater fish and over 100 reptiles and amphibians. Biopôle members enjoy special rates. BIRDWATCHING
Observe the wonders of nature at our biotope, a pond for rare birds and other protected species. Be patient and stay outside the restricted area to protect our fauna and flora.

TRAIL: Chemin de la Vuachère
Follow the fox’s footprints along this 8 km trail that takes you all the way from Biopôle to the lake. The route includes walkways, steps and forest tracks – so wear suitable footwear and allow about three hours!

Navigating the transition from academia to industry
Simply put, it can be hard to break into the life sciences industry. Many young professionals face obstacles identifying the right career path, securing their first job after university and adapting to the differences between academic research and industry expectations.
Voices of Life Sciences is a podcast designed to shed light on this transition, drawing on firsthand experiences from members of our community experiences.
