Mapping S.G.V. Subculture
Why is this map Important It reckognizes a subteranean culture that is overlooked as mere vandalism and ties it to the fabric of what makes the San Gabriel Valley the S.G.V.
Who paints these walls
The individuals that write graffiti are connected to a larger community. This community is apart of a marginalized people within the S.G.V. They paint because it is rebellious, and gives them a sense of purpose, belonging and voice

Typology of Terminal Island
A study of material & its connection profit
The concept for this map is to document the changes of Los Angeles Bay through time while capturing the communities that thrived and were displaced by industry, military and oil companies. My focus for a design will be based on exploring the traditions and migrations behind these specific communities and developing landscape systems that can be tied to the materials and construction methods for the expansion of terminal island.

Rainbow Trout Farming
Shallow gravel bed mimicks the trouts prefered spawning habitat.
Opening in the supporting structure allows for trout passage.
Pods can be monitored for soil safety. Once soil inside the pod is no longer contaminated it can be moved.
Once abundant in the L.A. Basins streams, rivers, and estuaries This fish lost its habitat due to the channelizing of our waterways. The Rainbow trout also known as Steelhead Trout is suitable for aaquaculture do to its shallow water depths.
Purpose: Reintroduce land-use traditions & typologies lost to the expansion of terminal island
Bioremediation Pods Section
These pods would act as a greenhouse for two strands of oil degrading fungi. Aspergillus Fumigatus & Penicillium Chrysogenum. contamianted soil would be placed inside along with the fungi spores. Openings at the bottom of the pod will allow the fungi to spread downward into the surrounding land.

Purpose: To utilize traits of an ancient form aquaponics & adapt it to different sites
Marsh Islands: Amphibian Sanctuary
Habitat specifically designed for amphibians. These floating islands is provide habitats within habitats. Target species would be the California Tiger Salamander along with toads & frogs on the endagered species list.
Openings allow for more habitat within the island
Marsh is encapsulated by reed inspired fence. This allows the soil to maintain moist.
