It didn’t take long for this month’s winner to find out that her name was drawn. Kathrine Stanislawski had just walked into Saint Joeseph’s in Big Bend on May 3rd when her friend Laverne said that her name was on page 11 of the Bingo Bugle. Kathrine and her husband Dave have been playing bingo for over 30 years, sometimes they play bingo five days a week and even twice in a day. Moose 49 Milwaukee, American Legion Post 416 Greendale, Knights of Columbus in South Milwaukee, Pioneer Bingo at Taj Palace, Tichigan Lions, Saint Joseph’s Big Bend, and Saint Francis Lions are places they frequent. All advertisers in the Bingo Bugle. You’ll often find Katherine one of the first persons to arrive at the bingo halls, she’ll read a book or play cards to pass the time waiting for bingo to start. Her husband Dave, (Owner of Minnesota Leaches 3157 S Howell Ave Milwaukee) joins her at most of the bingos after he closes up the store. The couple read the Bingo Bugle from

Kathrine and Dave have two granddaughters, Tegan and Neveah, they let them choose the dauber colors Tegan’s color is orange while Neveah’s is purple. If they win while using one of those colors the granddaughter whose dauber was being used gets five dollars. Kathrine loves the friends
and friendships she’s developed at bingo and her words of wisdom are “Be Positive”. Well, her positivity paid off with a Bingo Bugle Sweepstake Win! The South Milwaukee Knights of Columbus plays Bingo Every Monday. They are located at 732 Badger Avenue South Milwaukee. The give away $3300 in Prizes Gauranteed every
Monday no matter what the attendance is. They play 22 games of bingo, 18 of which offer $100 Prizes two $250 games and finish with two $500 games, not to mention the “Lucky Duck” Raffle which usually has a first prize of somewhere between $250 to $300 and a 2nd prize of $150 to $125 and finishes out with four to six $25 consolation prizes. The South Milwaukee Council 1709 has been running bingo since the 1970’s. Over the past 40 plus years they’ve donated hundreds thousands of dollars to the local Catholic parishes and schools, as well as food pantries and many other worthy causes. Every Monday people start lining up around noon to get their favorite seat, not to mention be first in line for the delicious food served by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. Doors open at 3 pm, food sales start at 4:30 pm and card sales start at 5 pm. Bingo starts at 6 pm, they play a ten game session that concludes about 7 pm. the next session usually starts at 7:15 pm.
