HelpingKeepOurTrash FacilityClean

Here are a few helpful reminders to keep everything working properly for everyone:

The trash compactors are intended for property owner/renter household trash only. If it fits in a standard trash bag, it is welcome. We kindly ask that contractors NOT use the facility for dumping construction materials.

Large, loose, bulky items should not be forced into the compactors, nor dumped anywhere on the ground near the facility, including within the Public Works compound. These items must be hauled to the local landfill or kept until the quarterly bulk trash day.

The aluminum can trailer is for recycling aluminum drink cans only thank you for helping keep other materials, such as tin cans or trash, out of this container.

The open top dumpster is intended for loose yard debris only (ex. sticks, limbs, leaves, plant and shrub cuttings, etc.). Construction material should not be dumped in the open top dumpster—it can be hauled to the local landfill or kept until bulk trash day. Bagged household trash must go into the compactors.

Cardboard is not recycled; however, we ask that you place it in the appropriately labeled auger compactor, which breaks it down to conserve space.

The open top dumpster within the Public Works compound is for metal recycling only. It is not a bulk trash bin. Please do not place non-metallic items in or near it. Furniture, carpet, cabinetry, construction material, etc., should be hauled to the local landfill or kept until bulk trash day.

For safety reasons, please do not climb on or into the metal recycling dumpster. Items placed inside are to be left alone and not removed.

We truly appreciate your cooperation in helping keep our community clean, safe, and efficient for everyone. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

All other recycling is available for Big Canoe residents at Cove Road, and we encourage you to utilize that facility to help reduce the quantity of waste taken to the landfills.
