Are You Thirsty?
Using augmented reality technology, fragments and extensions of the works from the 36th Bienal manifest in specific locations around the world, chosen by the artists themselves – including the Ibirapuera Park.
Among the innovations of this edition is the project Practical Bienal, a multilingual web application powered by artificial intelligence and featuring augmented reality resources. The platform offers an accessible and gamified interactive experience with dozens of selected artworks, described in Plain Language. Available starting in October. Access the web app via the QR Code on the left.

Varanda Bienal
Running in parallel with the exhibition at the Pavilion, Tributaries are programs carried out in partnership with cultural institutions in São Paulo and around the world. Access to learn more:
The inclusive audio guide of the 36th Bienal takes listeners through 20 works featured in the exhibition. Each track presents stories related to the artworks and comments on their processes and research. As an inclusive initiative, the audio guide is also available in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). The content can be accessed via the website 36.bienal.org.br/audioguia or via the QR Codes provided in the captions of the selected works.
Practical Bienal
All the food areas have a free supply of drinking water for visitors, as a result of a partnership with Petrobras.
In addition to the guided visits and the 36th Bienal accessible audio guide, there are other inclusion initiatives, all planned with the support of the specialized accessibility consultancy Mais Diferenças.
Contents in Braille and Enlarged Font
We have prepared an accessible route for blind and low vision visitors, which can be complemented by curatorial texts and texts about the works printed in Braille and in a version with enlarged font and contrast. Head to our education areas to access the material.
Access the WAVA platform via the QR Code on the left, or use the URL 36.bienal.org.br/en/apparitions to learn more.
Touch Models and Floor Plans
In the education area on the ground floor, you will find touch models of the Ibirapuera Park and the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion to help you understand the building dimensions. Also, on each floor, you will find a tactile plan of the space.

Guided Visits The mediation team engages visitors in conversations about the works on display, fostering an exchange of knowledge, perceptions, and experiences. The visits take place in different formats: by appointment for groups; unscheduled, at fixed times and subject to availability; or at the visitors’ own initiative, who may ask questions and request guidance in the mediation areas. In addition, there is a program for diverse groups, with visits available in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Sign Language (Libras).
Scheduled Group Visits Tues – Fri, 10am – 4pm duration: up to 2 hours
Spontaneous Visits
Tues – Sun, 10:30am – 4:30pm duration: up to 1 hour To learn more or schedule your visit, scan the QR code on the left or use the URL: 36.bienal.org.br/en/education
Physical Accessibility
To make the experience of visiting the show easier, the Fundação Bienal has partnered with Bloomberg Connects, a free app with guides to hundreds of museums and cultural spaces around the world.
We have elevators, access ramps, accessible restrooms, and an emergency alarm system. Wheelchairs are also available for use during visits – just ask a venue attendant at the entrance to the Pavilion.
Video Guide in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras)
Download the app and amplify your visit with information and details about this Bienal, such as texts, photos, and videos about the participants and their works, find the location of your favorite artist in the exhibition, and follow our public program.
In addition to the accessible audio guide with interpretation in Libras, we have also prepared a video guide in Libras that covers a selection of works in the exhibition (available starting in October).

The conceptual team proposed organizing the exhibition into chapters and introducing a new approach to signage, designed to encourage a direct encounter with the artworks without mediation through labels in the first moment. The information is concentrated on columns distributed throughout the space, in which visitors can access the curatorial texts and additional content about the artists and their works. To facilitate navigation, QR Codes are available in the exhibition space, and some works are accompanied by a code with the initials of their author, allowing for their identification on the corresponding column.
