For over 100 years we have been renowned for our academic excellence; a point well reflected by our strong record of success at at both 11+ and 13+. Our children enjoy maximum choice, as we help them to secure places at some of the top Grammar and Independent Senior Schools in the UK. Furthermore, we achieve outstanding results with Academic, Sport, Music and Art Scholarships attained across the board.
From as early as Nursery and Reception, lessons are delivered by dedicated, highly qualified and experienced subject specialists, ensuring a dynamic and inspiring delivery of the curriculum. Meticulously designed around our Four Quadrants of Learning – Academic, Arts, Sports and Outdoors and Community, this approach equips every child with the skills they need for a successful educational journey at Bickley Park School and beyond.
Bickley Park is a warm and friendly school with a truly broad and balanced curriculum at its heart. Our community is a family where all our children are known, understood, and have the opportunity to shine.

The Arts Quadrant covers Performing and Visual Arts, which includes Drama, Music and Art.
These subjects develop key skills of communication and confidence through a strong emphasis on self-expression, performance and collaboration.
Our Heads of Music, Drama and Art all spend time in Pre-Prep as well as Prep so that these skills are developed and honed right from Nursery.
Annual events include a highly anticipated Spring Term Musical and an incredible Summer Art Exhibition.

The backbone of our Academic excellence is our keen focus on Literacy and Numeracy with Phonics and Maths being taught from Nursery onwards. This provides the children with a secure foundation for deeper learning as they move through the school. Specialist teaching right through from Pre-Prep to Year 8, means that academic subjects such as Science, Modern Foreign Languages, the Humanities, Technology, as well as Maths, English and Reasoning are all taught at a high level. This ensures that pupils’ varied interests are fired early on, and they acquire specialist knowledge and skills for life.
In addition to our specialist ICE (Innovation, Computing and Engineering) lessons, we place great emphasis on our digital strategy, incorporating the use of technology within lessons by using iPads to support learning, as well as coding and robotics.
The Academic Quadrant enables intellectual potential to be realised whilst instilling a love of learning through imaginative, fun and motivating teaching.

Children are taught what constitutes a successful community, be it a family, a school, or wider outreach. A sense of social justice is developed in which pupils are encouraged to come up with ideas for how they can serve the school and wider community. One of the things that makes Bickley Park so special is our diverse and inclusive community and through School Council, children are encouraged to translate ideas into action.
The school is committed to helping local elderly and vulnerable people through ‘Befriending’ projects and also arranging for younger children to visit local care homes. Links between International Schools and Bickley Park have enabled pupils to gain life-changing insights into each other’s worlds through Science and Arts and Sport collaboration projects.

All PE and Games lessons are taught by specialist staff from the Early to Senior Years. A wide range of quality opportunities are offered in curriculum time, including movement and dance, gymnastics, rugby, football, cricket, athletics, tennis, hockey, badminton, basketball, squash, health-related fitness, table tennis, climbing and cross country.
The school enjoys the benefit of extensive playing fields, tennis courts, indoor swimming pool, a climbing wall and astroturf.
Every child from 5-13 has a weekly swimming lesson in the school’s own heated indoor pool. In the Prep School, teams represent the school in all age groups for football, rugby, cricket, and swimming.
High standards are attained in the many competitive matches that are played, while important life lessons are learnt: how to win and lose in the right spirit; how to lead effectively and how to play as a team.
