1. ENVISIONING RAMKOT
Mountain Architecture, 6th Sem.
Location: Ramkot, Tanahun
Description
Our journey to Ramkot was a memorable experience that deepened our understanding of vernacular architecture. Observing the village’s cultural landscape and lifestyle significantly shifted my perception of architecture. Documenting the houses of Ramkot enhanced our knowledge of how vernacular architecture is intrinsically linked to the geography, demography, and lifestyle of the people. This documentation involved learning about the construction techniques and materials used. Our design proposal, aimed at practicing community-focused design, seeks to continue the vernacular architecture style, ensuring that new designs are in harmony with the traditional practices and needs of the local people.

SECTION

Vernacular architecture involves seamlessly blending the design with its surroundings, including cultural landscapes, available materials, climatic conditions, and construction technologies. In this design, we focused on using shadow angles at different times of the day to enhance functionality and liveliness. Precise design of openings and overhangs based on these shadow angles ensures optimal use of natural light and shade. Additionally, incorporating the vernacular elements of Ramkot village adds authenticity and originality to the structure.

To the unlimited bound
Whisper the blow of wind, calm and loud.
The slow tide, bouncing my face
Fresh and clean, enhancing my craze
Playing my heart out
Knowing my life waht was it about
To every layer, ots a new chapter
Showing my sadness and my laughter
The every step of life, Let’s go together and create a paradise.

Leading to my own den made deep and shallow.

Description
Designed in asian zen design style, it focuses on emphasizing the sense of harmony, balance, transquility and simplicity in our home. It draws inspiration from both the concept of zen and the importance of incorporating nature into your decor, often found in asian homes. Any lines should be straight and simple, with softer curved edges thrown in to soften the look
The term Zen is derived from sanskrit word “dyana”, which means peace of mind. This design aims to create calm and peaceful atmosphere through the use of neutral color and natural material.
