BEHIND LENS the

Did you know your photographer is the vendor you’ll spend the most time with on your wedding day? So, it’s a good idea to get to learn about your wedding photographer to make sure you “click” (pun intended), because that’s when the magic really happens! Keep reading to see why couples choose Bianca from Pari Studio to capture their wedding day.

Let’s start with your name and a little about you first shall we?

Sounds great! Okay, hello! My name is Bianca, I’m the lead photographer, designer, marketer, accountant, social media poster, and any other title you could think of that keeps Pari Studio in motion. I come from a big blended and extended family, married to by best friend and mother to two sweet girls.

What does Pari Studio mean?

What’s in a name?... “Pari” is an Armenian word meaning “good” which is how I feel when I have a camera in my hand and I’m capturing your love story. Creating magic with you during your wedding journey gives me all the warm and fuzzies, and hearing how much you love and enjoy them puts me in a really GOOD place. I love that the images I capture do the same thing for you and bring forth those good feelings of happy memories and love when you look back on your images.

How long have you been capturing weddings?

I captured my first wedding in 2014, and I’ve been in love with them ever since!

Why do you love capturing weddings?

Wedding days are these beautiful time capsules of your love, and bring together all of the important people in your lives. I love the range of emotions: from a father giving away his not-so-little-girl, the unexpected bridal party entrances, the belly laughs during speeches, to all of those tender moments in between.

Speaking from experience, there is SO MUCH happening on your wedding day that you don’t even get to see, and I love the moments when you’re looking through your images you’re able to see the laughs, the hugs and the details from your day that you may have missed. There’s so much joy, love and excitement on wedding days and I love being there to capture all of those emotions for you.

What is the typical Pari Studio couple like?

The typical Pari Studio couple is fun-loving, lighthearted, love to laugh and have a clear vision for their wedding. They’ve chosen all the right vendors to make

THE PASSION & THE PURPOSE OF PARI STUDIO

those dreams a reality and they know I will capture their wedding to the fullest, so they can relax and just enjoy the day!

What’s the best way for a couple to reach out to Pari Studio for wedding day coverage?

The best way for couples to get started is by filling out the contact form at www.pari-studio.com/contact where they’ll receive a quick email from me and I’ll reach out to set up a time for a quick phone or video call so we can get to know each other a little better and see if we’re meant to be!

What types of weddings have you captured?

Do you have a preference?

Throughout my wedding career I’ve been able to capture everything from intimate beach and backyard weddings to lavishly decorated halls. That being said, I don’t have a preference, I love them all because each wedding is unique to each couple which is what makes them so exciting and fun to capture!

How would you describe your photography style?

I’m a traditional wedding photographer, but couples can expect their wedding day to be captured through a mix of traditional and candid images. For more formal photos I will pose and direct them to achieve the right look, and use a variety of prompts to create genuine interactions. I’m also very stealthy and always looking at their guests for embraces, laughs and real connections so when the couple looks through their albums, and admire their wall art, they’ll be able to relive those emotions and moments from their wedding day.

How would you describe your editing style?

The best way to describe my editing style would be true to colour, vibrant and warm. I don’t really venture into the “light and airy” or “dark and moody” look, however, there are exceptions to every rule! Sometimes the location and lighting is better suited to slightly different edit than my usual style. The one thing you can be certain of is that you will love your images, and your gallery will match the Pari Studio look and feel.

What can couples expect as you capture their wedding day?

My goal is to help couples feel comfortable and have fun so they can enjoy their wedding day. We’ll follow their timeline and shot list to make sure we capture their must have images and if time allows, one of my absolute favourite things to create on a wedding day is a creative lighting photo. Whether it’s a couple’s portrait with coloured lights, or a Vogue style family/bridal party image, it’s one thing that I love to sneak in if your timeline allows it!

Why should couples choose Pari Studio to capture their wedding day?

There are three reasons couples should choose me to capture their wed-ding day: my personality, my prep work and my skills!

Just a heads up, I’m going to do my best to make sure we’re having a good time on their wedding day. I don’t believe in adding extra stress, and I’ll always try to be a calm, steady anchor throughout the day.

Even though I’m a roll-with-the-punches kind of woman, a clear and organized schedule is KEY on a wedding day! They’re only going to do this once, so I make sure to reach out throughout the wedding process with questionnaires or calls to answer my questions leading up to their wedding. Their important people become MY important people on their wedding day, so determining what and who is incredibly important to the couple and their must have images is a big part of my plan. That helps me be aware and ready for when those moments happen.

And lastly, my photo skills! Whether I’m in the middle of the action, looking for stolen candid moments, or recreating a few of their must-have images, I’m always on the move looking for photo opportunities on their wedding day. My goal will always be to create some truly epic images to hang in that space they’ve been saving

for the perfect photo, and capturing those sweet candid moments that work great in an album. Plus I love diving into my bag of tricks and trying something new!

What can couples expect from your wedding collections?

It can be overwhelming to decide what you need for your wedding day coverage, and the items you’d like to create with those images, and with that in mind I’ve put together 3 carefully crafted wedding collections!

Wedding Collections start at $2,700 + HST with most couples spending around $3,500. All three of our packages include an engagement session, a personal gallery and online store. Packages also include a 32GB crystal USB with a custom case, wall art and albums depending on the package they decide to pick, with additional products available through their personal store.

How long will it take for couples to receive their gallery?

I’m so excited to get started on their photos and can’t wait for couples to see them as soon as possible. Engagement galleries are typically delivered between 2 to 4 weeks from their session, and wedding galleries are typically delivered between 8 to 16 weeks from the wedding day.

Why do gallery delivery times vary?

I personally edit your photos to maintain the quality standards I set for Pari Studio, and I don’t like to rush the editing process, so delivery times will vary depending on how many weddings and sessions are already in my editing queue.

What can couples expect to see in their gallery?

Couples can expect to see all of their edited images in colour and black and white, and their photos organized into groups to make reliving your wedding day easier. Couples will also be able to access their own personal store through their gallery where they can create albums, prints and wall art from the comfort of their couch!

Is there anything else you’d like to tell couples planning their wedding?

Well, I’d like to say congratulations on your engagement and wedding planning! Hopefully I’ve been able to answer any questions they may have, but if there’s anything I’ve missed they can always send an email to me at info@pari-studio.com.

DON’T FORGET THE Photographer!

Your wedding photographer is booked and you’re on to the next phase of planning! Pari Studio has put together a list of 5 great opportunities to include your photographer throughout your wedding experience!

Before the Wedding

01. Engagement Sessions

We highly recommend engagement sessions (that's why they're included in all of our packages!) because they're a great way to build a deeper relationship with your photographer, to document the beginning of your story, and those images will make a beautiful addition to your wedding day as Save-the-Dates and in an guestbook album.

02. Bridal Shower

You are going to be very busy with greeting your guests and opening gifts during your bridal shower, and once it's all over you realize you don't have any photos for yourself! That's why it's a

great idea to have your wedding photographer capture your bridal shower! You won't have to track down images from your guests because they'll be added to your engagement galleryalong with all your other images - from your wedding journey!

Wedding Weekend

03. Rehearsal Dinner

Rehearsals are another great opportunity for your photographer to get to know your bridal party and family before the big day. They're also a great opportunity to capture your families bonding together, with funny and candid moments, you don't want to miss!

04. Extended Family Session

One of my favourite ways to finish your wedding weekend is with an extended family session. This a great opportunity for families to gather together one last time before they need to return home. These sessions are also a great time to update individual family photos, especially for those with older relatives, or families that are spread apart.

After the Wedding

05. Anniversary Session

Anniversary sessions are a great opportunity to capture photos that may have been missed on your wedding day due to weather or timelines, or it can be used as an opportunity to: as a couple’s session compliment your current wall art, to document the excitement of a growing belly, or to feature the home you’ve created together in a lifestyle session. Don't forget to include your pets as well!

DETAILS TIPS

There’s a good chance that a lot of effort has gone into picking out the smallest detail of your wedding day. From flowers to favors and everything in between, every last detail is a piece of the story that is your wedding day!

Use our Details Checklist on the next page to make sure nothing is forgotten on your wedding day!

If you had calligraphy or any special lettering done on your invitations, have an extra copy made for me to photograph! You can use a fake address or even the address of your venue!

3

Have all 3 rings (engagement ring, bride’s band, groom’s band) included with your details so I can photograph them all together! Once I am done with them, we can give the bands to whoever is in charge of holding onto them!

4

Be sure to also include all the envelopes with your invitation suite so that I can capture the entire design! And feel free to include your Save the Date as well!

5

Including extra styling elements that go with your wedding theme and colors like fabric, ribbon, patterned paper or trays can help to give the detail photos a cohesive look that is consistent with the rest of your wedding!

6

Place your wedding day details into a container for easy access on your wedding day, so your photographer can get to work as soon as they arrive and begin documenting the story of your wedding down to the smallest detail, and create lasting memories to cherish.

TO FINDING THE RIGHT P's the WeddingPhotographer 4

Your wedding photographer is one of the most important vendors that you will choose for your wedding day, so how do you know you’ve found THE ONE when it comes to your Wedding Photographer?

Check out the 4 P's below to find out!

01. PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE

A photography style is more than how an image was edited and includes: how the people look (the poses), how the image was framed/cropped, the techniques used, the lighting, and several other factors. All of these pieces help create and define a photographer’s style, like a fingerprint on each one of their images.

There are so many photography styles to choose from, and if your unsure which style would be best for you try searching for “wedding photography” followed by one of these topics: traditional, light and airy, dark and moody, fine art, documentary, and candid.

02. PORTFOLIO

There are four things you want to pay attention to when viewing your prospective wedding photographer’s portfolio:

01. Editing Style: Whichever editing style the photographer uses, you want to make sure it’s consistent across all of their images. If their work uses multiple editing styles, it would be a good idea to ask which style your wedding will be edited in.

02. Poses: Even though we’re in our bodies every day, the moment a camera comes out we forget how to function. Pay attention to poses, especially when it comes to formal images for your family

July 22nd, 2023 14
Sandra & Gabriel

and bridal party, and the more personal poses for you and your partner.

03. Quality of Work: This is more of the technical side, but when looking at their images they should feel complete, not awkward or something off.

04. Content: This refers to the images in the photographer’s portfolio. There’s a reason a photographer doesn’t put all their images on their website – there’s just too many! So don’t be afraid to ask for images from a specific part of the wedding day –BUT take that with a grain of salt. Just because they don’t have an image of a sparkler exit doesn’t mean they aren’t capable of capturing one!

03. PACKAGES

By now you’ve found your photography style, you’ve viewed your top photographer’s portfolios, and now it’s time to compare their wedding packages!

Most photographers have 3 different wedding packages that they have carefully crafted to fit your wedding day needs with coverage time, albums, artwork, budget, and more. If your photographer has an almost perfect package, but if there’s something missing, don’t fret! Most photographers have an à la carte menu of add-on items to choose from so you can create the perfect wedding coverage package. Second shooters are a great addition to wedding packages as they free up the lead photographer to focus on you, your partner, and your VIPs while the second shooter can capture all of those moments you missed as your day

whirled by giving you a second view of your wedding day!

To get a better understanding of the wedding packages offered, the experience you will get, and your photographer (that’s P number 4!) it’s a great idea to have a meeting with your top photographers. This will let you talk about your wedding day needs and expectations, see the quality of the products you will receive, and discuss any changes (à la carte items) you may want to add to create the perfect package for your needs! It’s also really important that you don’t get caught up with the number of images you will receive. I’ve been on both sides of the camera, and I can tell you I would much rather have 400 to 600 quality edited images from my wedding day instead of getting 2,000+ images that I would need to sort through and organize!

04. PERSONALITY

Aside from your future partner you spend almost 90% of your wedding day with your photographer, which is why choosing someone who you’re comfortable with is CRUCIAL.

Your photographer should be someone you can spend an entire day with and who can problem solve and keep a cool head if your wedding day doesn’t go according to plan (cue the rain clouds!) Choosing a photographer who can pivot (PIVOT!) and problem solve on the fly will keep your day running smoothly, keep spirits high, and make sure your must have moments are captured.
