Joanna Levesley
Drawing, Painting, Illustration

Joanna is a self-taught contemporary ink artist based in Sheffield, UK, inspired and influenced by the surrealistic approach of Salvador Dali and M C Escher She is dedicated to working with abstract, fantasy pieces and aims to explore the beauty of the human spirit through her art.
Joanna mainly works with black and white pen and ink drawings as well as acrylic painting, resulting in dramatic and surrealistic compositions that evoke an intricate, mysterious world
As an artist, she believes in using complex lines to create powerful concepts Her work is driven by a passion to capture the underlying beauty and energy of things by honing into the fundamental line, exploring the limitless possibilities of the imagination
Her drawing doesn t reference recognisable form The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted By manipulating the viewer to create confusion, she creates intense personal moments masterfully created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer round and round in circles
By applying abstraction, she often creates several practically identical works, upon which thoughts that have apparently just been developed are manifested: notes are made and then crossed out again, ‘mistakes’ are repeated Her works are on the one hand touchingly beautiful, on the other hand painfully attractive Again and again, the artist leaves us orphaned with a mix of conflicting feelings and thoughts.

I was born in Brazil, in 1971, and live in Orlando since 2018. When I was a child I always had a passion for art I started doing craftwork with wood and then entered in the Quilling universe and completely felt in love.
This art consists in rolling little strips of paper and let your imagination flows through the canvas, creating some amazing and incredible figures
With this art, many doors opened to me I participate in exhibitions in Brazil, invited by another great artist, Enrique Rodriguez Also participated at least 10 exhibitions , in Colombia, Panamá, Argentina, Switzerland, Italy and Brazil
I absolutely love what I do, and hope that my work inspires people all around the world

Barry Rafuse
Painting, Digital Arts, Drawing, Mixed Media

I was born in New Westminster, BC and spent my growing up years in Maple Ridge. As a teenager, I became interested in drawing and painting, particularly trees I continued “hobby painting” well into adult life After a thirty-five year career in the judicial system and after raising a family, I decided to become a serious and professional artist I have taken numerous painting courses and have had my work accepted into many juried exhibitions. I first painted traditional landscapes and seascapes using watercolor or acrylic paint on paper. I soon found myself experimenting with mixed media, collage and texturing materials No surprise, I discovered abstract forms and this led to my love for painting colorful, textured abstracts on large canvases I have been influenced by the works of Richard Diebenkorn, Brian Rutenberg and Franz Kline Rarely do I commence a painting with preconceived ideas or a predictable outcome I like the challenge of working with the unknown and capitalizing on “happy accidents” when the paint and textures interact The exploration time takes hours, days or even weeks In the end, a painting which satisfies me, will have evolved I strive to keep the painting loose and bold If I spend too much time on the painting, it will invariably become too structured or too detailed and I will have to start over I do not want a painting to look pretty or recognizable – I want the image to be dramatic and mysterious. I am a signature member (SFCA) of the Federation of Canadian Artists and a signature member (CSA) of the Society of Canadian Artists I teach mixed media courses, jury shows and continue to exhibit work in galleries and juried exhibitions. Painting has become part of my life. It keeps me grounded

Kate Knudsen

Kate Knudsen is a painter living in Sonoma, California. Her art is informed by a childhood lived deep in the American South and an adulthood steeped in tragedy Her work is textured and nuanced with subtle psychological undertones, exploring the inner workings of her own psyche as a way to process trauma and grief Inspired by dreams, memories and revelations, her paintings often feature Southern imagery Religious iconography gives pause more than salvation. Her childhood place is a slightly haunted state of pure wonder. Blindfolds, empty white gowns, wings, distorted features, shadow figures and spirit animals - her visual repertoire is purposely ambiguous, even a little disturbing or uncomfortable Yet from one work to the next, a sensual and poetic feminine universe emerges, filled with softness, grace and mystery

Lance Pressl
Photography

Lance Patrick Pressl is a self-taught photographer specializing in fine art images. His work explores the complex interplay of lines, shadows and form and is designed to encourage his viewers to see familiar objects or shapes in new and different ways. Some have suggested that Pressl sees the material world fundamentally differently than others, which gives him the special ability to capture unique and compelling images Every image Pressl captures is done with the intent to tell a story or evoke an emotion. Among his many interests, he is fascinated by the human body and frequently uses traditional and nontraditional representations to capture the curiosity of his audience A common feature of his work is the juxtaposition of a human figure with a single object--typically something found--to reveal new and unexpected relationships Another stylistic feature of his work is his uncanny ability to see and capture in his lens a single part of a larger object or figure bringing a new perspective and importance to the parts that make up a whole Simplicity and pureness of form are central to his artistic expression A student of ancient Greek philosophy, Pressl is drawn to the belief held by Plato that there is an ideal form of beauty which is universal and not dependent on individual tastes or preferences, i e , beauty in its purest form He is driven to seek out as many earthly forms of beauty as possible to not only capture but share their wonder. He is influenced by the work of Victor Skrebneski, Helmut Newton, Ruth Bernhard, Edward Weston, and a host of others His work has been recognized and presented in juried exhibitions, international competitions and fine art magazines. He is represented by the Haze Gallery, Berlin Germany

Alexia Lewnes
Painting

I began my career as a documentary filmmaker and journalist in New York City and Cairo, Egypt before moving into international development For more than two decades, I reported on the lives of the most vulnerable members of society. In the US, I wrote about the impacts of poverty and documented the lives of kids living on the street From Brazil to India to Mozambique, I reported on and photographed women and children, sharing their stories of pain, determination, and courage in often brutally challenging and environmentally damaged regions
While living in the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa, I came to fully appreciate how textiles played a crucial role in cultural expression and storytelling Reflecting customs, class, values, identity, beliefs and social structure, textiles tell individual and collective stories In my work, first in writing and photography, and now in paint, I have focused on making stories come alive The textural geometric shapes, patterns, and layers I use are a reminder that all our actions big and small leave imprints on the world They are my attempt to give voice to the complexity that surrounds us and the forces that shape our lives
My home is now Santa Fe, New Mexico

Guillermo Navarrete Davis
Painting

"I am a self-taught painter born and raised in Santiago de Chile. I grew up during the Pinochet dictatorship in a military family, but always felt out of place I did not receive support in my deep passion for art, so had to become somewhat rebellious. I found my place in the San Francisco Bay Area and have lived here since 1998.
My paintings reflect life's realities; suffering, love, struggle, joy, loneliness, tenderness and vulnerability. Above all, I enjoy painting images that tell a story about the truth, resilience, and depth of humanity
I am a prolific painter, but I have limited experience in exhibiting my work publicly Now that I am getting my paintings exhibited more and more, I am having quite a bit of success, winning "Juror's Choice" and "Featured Artist" in the East Bay Open Studios, and "Best of Show" at the Museum of Northern California
I am currently exhibiting my paintings in three locations: The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, The Grand Gallery in Oakland, and at Nani's in Richmond, CA

Janet Southcott
Painting

Janet Southcott grew up in the glorious Yorkshire Dales area of northern England. Her family loved natural history, and through countless fungus forays and hikes over hills, Janet found the small yet beautiful nuances of her environment. Her uncle is a professional artist who taught students in the art of watercolour, and from a young age Janet realized a life in art was possible.
Janet’s work takes the viewer on a natural history tour like no other. She exposes the intimate, beautiful abundance of life most of us miss. She asks us to slow down, notice what we have been blind to, and sows seeds for a greater respect for this world we live in. The experience is one of joy, awe, wonder, peace, and leaves the viewer wanting more. “I used to believe everybody saw what I do, yet I see now people don’t. It’s time to open the curtains and embrace the joy of exploring the ethereal dimension.”
Janet believes anything is possible. Looking out the window from her studio, she is able to see ferries come and go across the Salish Sea. The Vancouver Island mountains come into view and then are hidden in cloud. Whales, dolphins, sea lions swim by, salmon jump, herring cause majestic communities of bald eagles and gulls loudly scavenging – it’s an ever-changing vista. With this vision, opportunities for creation are never ending. The impermanence and dynamic nature of life surrounds her easel and it is this sense she captures with paintbrush in her unique ethereal narrative realism genre. She delights in what she creates and shares with the world.
Her work is shared through janetsouthcottart.com

Brianna Evelo
Sculpture

Brianna Evelo is a 21-year-old from Powell, Wyoming. Currently, she is a senior at the University of Wyoming, pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus on sculpture and ceramics She feels that the flexibility of sculpture allows her to be more expressive than painting or drawing. Being able to manipulate space itself and create physical objects to interact with the viewers is part of the reason she loves three-dimensional work so much. After graduation, she is planning on being a post-undergraduate assistant for her sculpture professor, then possibly doing an artist residency or pursuing her Master's to become a sculpture professor herself Many of her pieces revolve around ideas of human nature, portrayed through animal and plant imagery She combines abstract and realistic representations to create sculptures that relate to the human condition personally, as well as societally Most of her work focuses on highlighting the positive aspects of life

Rikardo Long
Painting, Graphics

Ricky Seasons is an artist whose work fuses graffiti, abstraction, and emotional storytelling into layered visual experiences Born in Brooklyn and raised in NC, inspired by movement and noise, early exposure to street art and urban decay shaped my bold, raw approach to image-making. My style blends spray paint, acrylic, ink, and digital media, using layering, distortion, and fluidity to explore themes of identity, transformation, and memory. Drawing inspiration from myth, music, subconscious thought, and the textures of everyday life, my work often features fragmented figures, obscured faces, and cryptic text elements that suggest stories without revealing them entirely The process is intuitive and fluid, balancing control with chaos, and always open to evolution Resonating with those who see beauty in the broken and power in the unspoken, I create not to explain but to evoke, leaving a mark that lingers biafarin com/artist?name=rikardo-long
