SUE ENGELMANN

I took the train from Boston to the Wood River Valley in 1982 with just my skis, a suitcase, and a few magazines. Intending only to stay and ski for the winter, after one season I was hooked and couldn’t come up with a legitimate reason to leave.

I started my real estate career in 1992, and have had my broker’s license since 1998. In November of 2019 I joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Sun Valley Properties, and feel fortunate to be affiliated with not only Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices but with the highly professional team of agents that make up our Sun Valley office.

My knowledge of the local market and luxury real estate is extensive. Chances are that I know something about almost every property in the Wood River Valley. I am honest, work hard, and do my homework. I specialize in matching people with properties and find it to be one of the most satisfying aspects of the profession. I am proud to say that most of my business comes through my clients and referrals.

I was born and raised in the Wood River Valley, so I bring a deep understanding of the local market and what it means to call our community “home.” After 11 years of living and working in New Zealand and Australia, I returned to Sun Valley to continue my career and build professional relationships across our close-knit community. I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent time living overseas, as it has given me a deeper appreciation for just how special the Wood River Valley can be. Whether I am connecting with first-time homebuyers, individuals and families new to the valley, or helping my life-long friends add to their real estate portfolio, I look forward to helping you discover the same magic I feel when here at home.

I have been a Realtor in the Wood River Valley since 1995, and have been Sue’s licensed assistant since 2011.

My passion for real estate started at an early age, learning the business from my father who owned his own real estate company in Western Washington. I graduated from the University of Denver, and after moving to Sun Valley, I served on the Board of Realtors for many years and was President of the Board in 2007. I live in Ketchum with my husband Nick, son Brody, and twin daughters Elisabeth and Claire.
