The Oklahoma Senior Living Association (OKSLA) is proud to present this updated Membership Directory and Resource Guide. Our goal, as the OKSLA Board of Directors and Staff, is to provide a valuable resource for everyone interested in senior living across Oklahoma. The majority of Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Residential Care communities in Oklahoma are members of OKSLA, as well as a few ICF/IID under 16 beds and independent senior living communities. All of these are represented in this directory. We are confident it will serve as a helpful guide for families as they research and identify the community that best meets their loved one’s needs.
OKSLA is the only association solely dedicated to Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Residential Care communities in Oklahoma. We work continuously to advocate for and collaborate with state legislators and regulatory partners to support positive changes in policy and practice—always with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for Oklahoma’s seniors.

It has been over 5 years since we published our very first Membership Directory. Since that time our industry has survived COVID; fiercely advocated to ensure seniors continue to have a choice in their senior living retirement settings; and have grown stronger to meet the needs of the Seniors in Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Assisted Living Association (OKALA) has continued to grow to meet the demands of our members. In March of 2024, we merged with the Oklahoma Residential Assisted Living Association (ORALA) and rebranded to the Oklahoma Senior Living Association (OKSLA).
With this merger, we have been able to increase the membership benefits including adding a nurse to our staff; a new office that includes a training center; more educational offerings; and a revamped website with a “members only” section.
Members of the Oklahoma Senior Living Association (OKSLA) are held to a higher standard than other senior living communities and businesses. We continually provide them with education to keep them current with Oklahoma regulations and rules; offer assistance with state surveys; and search out resources (Industry Partners) to help them provide the best services for their residents.

A wide array of lifestyle and care options are available in senior living for aging Americans.
Americans are living longer, and according to the U.S. Census Bureau, when the last of the baby boomers reach age 65 in 2029, they will represent more than 20% of the total U.S. population, numbering about 60 million people. Because about two-thirds of the 65-plus population requires some form of long-term care, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, aging Americans will create unprecedented demand for senior living and health care options.
It’s important to remember that there is assistance available and a variety of senior living options that may suit the needs and preferences of you or a loved one when the time comes. Making the decision to leave a family home for senior living can be difficult, so it is important to consider individual needs—perhaps the potential benefit of increased socialization or a safer environment for those with memory decline. Some common, but important questions that aging Americans often find themselves asking are, “What is senior living?”, “How do I pay for senior living?”, and “How do I choose a community?”.
What Is Senior Living?
Senior living is a home and community-based setting for older adults combining housing with services focused on health and wellness, hospitality, personal care, and dining and nutrition. There are currently over 30,000 senior living communities in the United States serving more than 835,000 residents.
Senior living options may include:
Independent Living: Providing older adults, who can effectively and safely care for themselves, with a range of services such as dining options, transportation services, and health and wellness programs, providing comfort, convenience, and socialization to fit their lifestyle.
A Assisted Living: Providing residents with customized assistance for activities of daily living, such as maintaining personal hygiene, dressing, and eating, with strong consideration given to protecting independence, dignity, and quality of life.
C Continuing Care Retirement Community (also known a s a Life Plan Community): Providing several levels of care and living options most often including independent living, assisted living, and nursing care.
M Memory Care: Providing specialized care for individuals experiencing various levels of cognitive decline.
Residential Care: In Oklahoma, this long-term care option provides participants 18 years and older assistance with medication and reminders for other activities of daily living. Some residential care have are certified to provide mental health services by the state of Oklahoma.

Established in 1997, OKSLA represents the interests and views of over 70% of licensed assisted living, memory care, and residential care communities, as well as over 13,000 seniors who live in those communities throughout Oklahoma. Our representation extends beyond this, as we also represent several ICF/IIDs with 16 beds or fewer, independent senior living communities, and over 60 industry partners. In March 2024, the Oklahoma Assisted Living Association (OKALA) and the Oklahoma Residential Assisted Living Association (ORALA) 4merged. They rebranded as the Oklahoma Senior Living Association (OKSLA). OKSLA is dedicated to preserving dignity and choice for Oklahomans and to ensuring the quality of their care in the senior living setting. OKSLA offers a range of member services, including representation and advocacy at the state and federal levels, administrator certification training, timely educational programs,

MARTHA TAYLOR Meet 106-year-old
Martha Taylor is 106 years old, born December 21, 1919, in Lexington, and resides at Village on the Park. She was married to her husband, Warren Taylor, for 78 years and has two children, three grandsons, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Martha was a Rosie the Riveter during World War II and says, "We stepped up and did what needed to be done, women are good at that!" She thinks that the most important thing to be remembered for is how you treated people and how kind you were. Martha's word of advice to us all is "Get out there! Do something with this one life you have been given!"
