Regenerative Agriculture
This refers to farming and grazing practices that restore soil biodiversity and reverse climate change by sequestering carbon dioxide in replenished soil.
This means that a product can break down into carbon dioxide, water, inorganic compounds, and biomass in about 90–180 days or less with the support of aerobic microorganisms. This process leaves no toxicity in the soil. Compostable products can include food scraps, as well as certifiedcompostable foodservice packaging materials like the products made by Better Earth. Check with your commercial compost facility to confirm what they accept.
According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, this is an economic system where nothing is wasted. Better Earth compostable products are a strong example of the circular economy in action, as our raw materials are sourced from rapidly renewable perennial plants or agricultural byproducts (like bamboo). We can all “close the loop” through composting, leaving no waste behind.
