As the clocks change this month and day light hours fade, many elderly people can withdraw into their homes significantly reducing the amount of time they spend with others which can lead to loneliness.
David Beak
Feeling lonely has a negative impact on both physical and mental health and can affect people of all ages. Studies show loneliness can be associated with an increased risk of having a stroke, hypertension, coronary heart disease,

dementia and depression. It can also increase the experience of mental health problems. Home care services can help combat loneliness. Alina Homecare Banbury provides a wide range of quality home care services, trusted by local people and their families. Their professionally trained carers visit people in their own homes enabling them to live independently in the place they love surrounded by familiar things and memories. All care is monitored by an app. giving transparency and added reassurance.
Many people choose regular visits if a loved one requires help with domestic activities like cooking, taking medication, going to appointments. Regular visits from a friendly face can make a positive difference to someone’s mental health especially during the winter months. Winter is also when more people especially the elderly have trips and falls often resulting in a hospital stay. Returning home can be daunting for the patient and their family so Alina Homecare’s services include reablement, providing support and reassurance that someone
is on hand – day and night if needed. The Alina Homecare Team, provide trusted personalised Home Care throughout Banbury and Live-in Care services further afield. Live-in Care is often the choice for couples when one or both requires professional care and they want to stay together - not move into a care home. Whatever type of home care you’re looking for, Alina Homecare can guide and support you.
