An overview of the enrolment process for apprentice applicants and their employers

Employer Responsibility

Apprentice Responsibility Ҍ

Complete application at bestpracticenet.co.uk Applicant requires: Employer support, UK residency, Employment contract for apprenticeship duration, GCSE and Degree certificates (as appropriate to pathway)

Ҍ

Complete ‘Contract for Services’ (emailed following apprentice application) To be completed by DAS (digital apprenticeship service) account holder.

Ҍ

Headteacher completes ‘Employer declaration’ (also emailed) to confirm support, commitment to programme, DBS and employment information

Ҍ

Setup cohort/permissions on DAS

Ҍ

Employer call undertaken to check funding permissions have been granted

Ҍ

Sign employer grant agreement (Secondary apprentices only)

Ҍ

Interview scheduled and written and maths tasks completed

Ҍ

Interview completed (1.5hrs online) Consists of 10 min presentation followed by interview questions

Ҍ

Conditional offer accepted

Ҍ

Completion of online pre-programme checks (fitness to teach, Safeguarding & DBS)

Ҍ

Receive access to BUD (Apprenticeship contract platform) to complete the ‘Skills Scan’ (an online self-review against framework standards) and the BKSB assessment (which assesses your current English and maths levels)

Ҍ

Digitally sign apprentice contract

Ҍ

Digitally sign employer contract

Receive access to Participant Dashboard

Ҍ

In-school Mentor receives access to Mosaic (VLE)

Ҍ

Approve funding via Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) account

Ҍ

A platform to view training schedule and access virtual learning enviornment (Mosaic)

Ҍ

Programme begins with First Day of Learning (FDOL) A 2-hour online induction & written reflection
