Brattleboro Graduation 2023

Twin Valley Middle High School

Twin Valley Middle High School is pleased to announce that Matthew Hammond has been named the valedictorian of the Class of 2023. Winter Nakos has been named salutatorian.

The valedictorian, Matthew Hammond, is the son of Jessica and Shawn Hammond of Wilmington. Matthew has excelled in the classroom where much of his success can be attributed to a very mature work ethic that places academics at the top of his priorities. Matthew is a dedicated learner who has elected to take multiple honors and college level courses. Matthew is a member

of the National Honor Society and has been a contributing member of the Student Leadership and the Community Partnership Pride Group. Furthermore, Matthew has been a key member of the soccer and basketball teams. Matthew learning experiences have gone far beyond the classroom walls. In recent years he travelled to Spain and participated in the Spanish Cultural Exchange Program. In the fall, Matthew will attend the University of Vermont as the Green & Gold Scholar. He plans to pursue a major in the engineering field.

Salutatorian, Winter Nakos, is the

daughter of Rebecca Duncan and Mark Silverman of Wilmington and the late Gregory Nakos. Winter is an exemplary student who has set high standards for herself. Winter has been enrolled in numerous honors classes during her high school career and has worked hard to achieve outstanding academic grades. Winter has been inducted in to both the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. She represented Twin Valley at the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Conference and has been the Reporter, Secretary and Treasurer of the Future Business Leaders of America at the

Wilmington, VT

Windham Regional Career Center. Winter also served as President and Vice President of our Student Council. She is a kind and respectful student who is respected by her teachers and peers. In the fall Winter plans to attend the University of Vermont where she will pursue a degree in Community Entrepreneurship.

Matthew and Winter have shown consistent commitment to academic excellence, and they exemplify the good moral character that defines them as outstanding 2023 graduating seniors of Twin Valley Middle High School.
