2024-2025 Bentley University Orientation Assistant (OA) Job Description Orientation & Student Onboarding is seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, positive students, with an attention to detail, who are looking to enhance their leadership skills by serving as role models, guides and mentors to the Orientation Leader teams, new students and families at Bentley University. All orientation staff will lead with the Bentley Core Values and be: • • • • • • •

It will be the responsibility of the OAs to: • Serve in a support role to both the Central Staff and Student Coordinators. • Orientation Assistants will help manage the operational component of the programs. • Be prepared to assist in other duties as assigned and needed. Every OA plays an essential role in the New Falcon Experience including the onboarding process, the Orientation Program, and the Orientation Team experience. Successful candidates will participate in a robust training to develop and enhance the skills and knowledge necessary to support the new students as well as mentor and guide the OLs (Orientation Leaders). There are two functional collaterals for OA role: •

Family Group Support and Program Logistics (8)—These OAs will support a small group of both new and returning Orientation Leaders within a family. This will include preparing your OLs for understanding how to facilitate activities and manage their group of baby falcs. Additionally, these OAs will support logistical components of the Orientation Program and support their small group of OLs as needed. Orientation Team Support and Program Logistics (4)—These OAs will support the full Orientation Team and central staff as needed throughout training and the Orientation Program. While they will be in a family group, they will not support a specific small group of Orientation Leaders. During the program they will support logistical components of the Orientation Program and personnel/participant support as needed

Staff must be available at the following dates/times for training and program execution: 2024 Commitments • Orientation Team Study Break- December 10th, 2024 2025 Commitments February • Student Coordinator/ Orientation Assistant Meeting • Orientation Leader Group Process April • Student Leader Retreat • Accepted Student’s Day • Orientation Team Working Meeting July • July Team Meeting August • Team Training Please note, the Orientation Program is tentatively scheduled for August 28th- September 1st based on the most recent version of the University calendar.
