NEWARK, NJ - Several businesses were damaged in a fire that escalated to three alarms in the City of Newark during the early evening hours of April 22nd. The blaze, located at 574 Broadway, was initially reported at approximately 6:55 P.M., through several 911 calls. First arriving companies were met w ith heavy fire on the top floor and venting through the roof of the three-story wood-framed house, with fire extending to the exposures.
