Earl Bentz Interview Transcript: Date: Uncertain Time: 47:13 Earl Bentz (EB): He’s also one of our dealers, and he had a prisoner build that. Took the guy two years to make it. The guy serving a life sentence, so he didn't have anything else to do. And uh, the guy...I guess they don't give them sharp tools in prison. So, he had to be very creative and the tools, the different tools. For instance, in a D-cell battery. You take a D-cell battery apart, there’s a thing in it a little coil deal like a drill ,drill bit and he used that to make the holes and little cannons on the side. So yeah, I thought it was a unique piece. Bill Carey (BC): I was at The Naval Academy, yeah. I didn't go to school there, but I was visiting there and there's a museum very under publicized course, they got better things to do. But it's entire, there's an entire collection, hundreds of, of model both like that made by prisoners of war often many of them out of human bones. EB: You're kidding me. BC: And no, and you know, Annapolis Chamber of Commerce knows about it, but pretty much that's it. And its incredible collection actually visited there one, one time. EB: Well, let me ask you this. BC: Yeah. EB: If I sat over in front of that and use that for backdrop, will that be a little better? Unknown: I like, I like the boat in the background. That might be too busy. EB: OK. You like this, that's why you’re a photographer and I’m a boat builder. BC: Tell me and I'm, I'm sorry, I don't know more about your about you than what I've read in The Wall Street Journal, what I wrote in The Scene last year and what I've read a couple of trade publications I have a feeling I could have studied more, but I didn't.
