Welcome to the 2026 Saddleridge Charolais Bull Sale! We would like to thank you for taking time out of your day to review this catalogue, for showing interest in our program, and we would like to invite you to come out to the sale on Wednesday, March 18 at Bow Slope Shipping in Brooks. As a family we feel very blessed that we have been given the opportunity to do what we love – farm – with the people we love – family. A family that spans generations, including 9 grandchildren who are blessed to grow up on the farm. Not only do we get to experience this lifestyle with our family but we have 3 fantastic, dedicated employees – John, Joseph, and Blake – and an amazing supportive community around us. The foundation of the entire operation was laid by Ralph and over the years as the boys decided to join the farm – first Leonard, then Luke, and finally Philip – the various enterprises expanded as well. Today we farm around 2400 acres of irrigated cropland growing a mix of pedigree alfalfa seed, barley, wheat, canola, and a variety of forage crops for silage and feed – corn, fall rye, oats, hay, and grass. We operate 2 small backgrounding feedlots with a combined capacity of about 3000 head of owned and custom fed calves. We utilize a mix of irrigated grass, native grass, and native community pasture to graze our cow herd which has grown to 550 commercial cows plus 100 purebred Charolais.
We believe the bulls we have on offer this year to be one of the most consistent groups to date. While the farm has grown over the years our commitment to providing the best possible Charolais bulls for the commercial cattleman remains the same.
For those unable to attend the sale in person, it will also be broadcast on DLMS for internet bidding and videos of the individual sale bulls will be available prior to the sale. We would like to extend an invitation to stop by the farm to see the bulls for yourselves before sale day and we would be happy to show you around. Delivery
We are happy to take your purchases back to the farm following the sale and deliver them later in the spring when it is convenient. If they come back with us, we recommend you have your bull insured in case of injury while in our possession. We offer free delivery within 300 km and are happy to work with you on longer distances.
Terms & Conditions
• All sales shall be final and binding. Any disputes shall be settle by auctioneer at or before time of sale.
• Saddleridge Charolais retains the option to collect semen on any of their bulls in the sale at a future date for their in-herd use only. This would be at the seller’s expense and at the owners convenience.
• Payment of livestock shall be made by cash or cheque in Canadian funds to Bow Slope Shipping Association Co-op.
• Any errors found in this catalogue will be corrected sale day by the auctioneer and will take precedence over the catalogue.
• Transfer and registration papers will be pre-paid by the seller and that no cost of the same be incurred by the purchaser.
• Each bull will be personally guaranteed by the selling consignor to be a sound breeder.
• Consignors will not be liable for more than the purchase price of the bull purchased at the sale.
• Upon invoicing out please leave delivery instructions with the office staff.

Lot 4 and 5 are sired by Saddleridge Jurassic 29J who was one of our top sellers in our 2022 Bull Sale. We have used him in our AI program for the past few years and these 2 bulls demonstrate why we thought so highly of him back then and continued to use him in our AI program. This gentle giant is a pen favorite among the children in our family. He is the bull who is always looking for a scratch or some extra attention. The Kryptonite calves generally all exhibit a fairly calm demeanor but this guy is the quietest of the group.

Kryptonite has been one of our main walking bulls for the last few years. He was an embryo calf that we raised ourselves out of the renowned Germaine 484 cow and a Duty-Free son, HVA Fireball, and this combination absolutely hit it out of the park. Kryptonite packs performance in all dimensions siring calves that are long, deep, and wide. His influence within our herd continues to grow as his first daughters are calving this year. 6 SONS SELL

It’s my pleasure to have been invited by the Retzlaff family as a guest consigner. I’ve been raising Charolais and buckskin calves for over 4 decades. Winning the Grand Champion project steer in 4-H, started my journey. Not only did I study agriculture, but have continued my career within the cattle sector. My purebreds and commercial cows are all managed together, weighing 1500 lbs average. You’ll notice my herd has lower EPD’s on the birth weight and calving ease. I ranch independently and need calves born smooth and grow strong. Feel free to come for a tour anytime.
