BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA CLEAN UP YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA Colleges and even future employers may review your public social media accounts as part of their decision-making process. To make a positive impression, keep your profiles updated, maintain quality in posts, and showcase meaningful achievements. Use a professional email address Avoid negative or rude comments, inappropriate photos, or anything you wouldn’t include in a college application because it could become part of your permanent digital record & prevent you from getting a job or into a college. AVOID SENDING INAPPROPRIATE TEXT MESSAGES THAT SOMEONE COULD SCREENSHOT AND POST Any pictures or texted conversations you send to someone could be shared with others. Don’t assume someone will be trustworthy and keep things confidential. Things can be shared with funny intentions and get into the wrong hands without context or someone could share with wrong intentions. Best not to put something out there that would hurt you later if it became part of your permanent digital record.
INDIVIDUAL FAMILY MEETINGS THIS SPRING! OUR COUNSELING TEAM IS EXCITED TO PARTNER WITH STUDENTS AND FAMILIES AS YOU PLAN FOR THE YEARS AHEAD. We will invite each family individually to meet with their student’s counselor to create an individualized high school plan that supports academic success, personal growth, and post– high school goals.
