A Message from the President

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the 50th Annual Golden Bell Auction! This is quite a milestone year for us here at Bellarmine, as we celebrate our 175th year as a school, our 100th here on this campus, and our 50th auction. We have so much to celebrate and so many reasons to be proud.

We are thrilled to be with you here tonight, enjoying what I know will be an exciting evening full of good food and drink and wonderful people, all coming together for a very worthy cause.

Tonight’s proceeds will support our Direct Tuition Assistance Fund. Your participation in this evening’s silent and live auctions will meaningfully impact the lives of students who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend Bellarmine due to financial concerns. Distributing nearly $8 million to support tuition assistance this year — the most of any of our peer schools — is a significant and worthy challenge, one that we embrace whole-heartedly because it speaks to the core Ignatian value of seeing God in all people. Through this fund, a far greater number of students can benefit from a Bellarmine education.

I am grateful to those who have generously supported the auction in ways great and small — our underwriters, table sponsors, and those who have donated items for the silent and live auctions. You, as well as our many volunteers, make this evening memorable and successful. Thank you to our Boards of Trustees and Regents for their stalwart support, and to Rob Selvi ’74, chair of our Trustees, Rob Meinhardt ’87, vicechair of our Trustees, and Tom McGannon, chair of our Regents, for their leadership and service to Bellarmine. Finally, thanks to the members of our Office of Advancement for planning and executing tonight’s event.

Once again, welcome and thank you for being here with us this evening. Your support is a critical component of carrying out our mission to form young men for and with others.

God bless and Go Bells!

Gratefully,
