Resin and Sip at Bellarine Estate
There’s a new kind of tasting experience on the Bellarine, and it doesn’t involve a wine glass alone – though there’s usually one nearby. Resin and Sip classes, run by local business Bellarine Resin in partnership with Bellarine Estate Winery, have quickly become one of the peninsula’s most popular creative outings. Held in the relaxed surrounds of the Portarlington Road cellar door, the sessions invite guests to swap the usual paddock-to-plate afternoon for something a little more hands-on: pouring, swirling and setting their own resin artwork onto a timber cheeseboard with a glass of wine in hand. Each two-hour class caps out at eight people, giving everyone room to work – and time to actually enjoy the wine or gin included in the ticket price. Guests are walked through the basics of resin art, from safe handling and mixing through to colour techniques and the small tricks that make a piece look polished rather than accidental. By the end, every participant leaves with a finished cheeseboard ready for their next dinner party. The idea behind the classes was simple: give people a reason to slow down at Bellarine Estate outside the usual lunch or tasting. It’s proven a hit with everyone from birthday groups to corporate teams looking for something different.
“It was such a fun way to spend an afternoon together.” “By the end of the night the whole room was comparing what we’d made – nobody expected to end up so proud of a cheeseboard!” says Senior Sales Consultant Peta Walter, reflecting on the outing. The team’s session doubled as a reminder of what makes the Bellarine special: small, locallyrun businesses collaborating to create genuinely memorable experiences, all within a short drive of home. Resin and Sip classes run regularly throughout the year at Bellarine Estate, with sessions typically held on Friday evenings and Saturdays. Places are limited to eight per class, and larger group or corporate bookings can be arranged directly with Bellarine Resin. Given their popularity, early booking is recommended.
That was certainly the experience for Bellarine Property staff, who recently traded selling houses for stir sticks at a private session.

Is there a local street, building, or style of home that you feel especially connected to—and what’s the story behind it?
Is there a moment or memory in this community that made you realise ‘this is home’?
I have always felt drawn to the character of the Bellarine Peninsula’s coastal homes. Particularly those that embrace natural light, outdoor living and connection to the landscape.
For me, it has been the everyday moments. Being surrounded by beautiful local beaches, nature and the rhythm of coastal life feels like a full-body exhale after a long day.
A home is not simply a property — it holds memories, milestones, family stories and dreams for the future.
Do Real Estate agents have an all-time favourite sale? If so what’s yours to date?
What’s your favourite destination to dine out or grab a coffee? One of my favourite things about living on the Bellarine is the accessibility to local produce, great wineries, cafés and places where you can slow down and connect. My go to places for a delicious Soy Chai Latte are “Bellarine Wholefoods” in Drysdale, or “Mr & Mrs Jones” in Clifton Springs.
If you weren’t in real estate, what do you think you’d be doing? I would continue working with Heart Space Connection full time instead of part time. My passion has always been supporting others to feel more connected, confident and aligned.
What is it about this local area that made you want to work here? The Bellarine Peninsula feels like home because it offers community, nature, connection and a slower pace of life while still being full of opportunity.
Every sale has its own story, because behind every property is a person or family making a significant life decision. My favourite moments are not only about the result achieved, but about seeing clients feel supported and cared for throughout the journey.
What does a perfect “local day” look like for you, from morning to evening? A perfect local day is one enjoyed with my family. Perhaps a morning walk, coffee/chai and taking in the beauty of the Bellarine coastline. I love the simple things: connecting with friends and family, exploring local cafés, visiting markets, spending time outdoors, soaking up the sunshine.
