INSTRUCTION FOR EXAMINEE In view of the current pandemic and lockdown situation, the institution would be conducting the College Entrance Examination via a combination of Remote Proctored Assessment and Face-to-Face Proctored Assessment. This change is to allow you to take their examination from the safety and security of your home, without the inconvenience of travel.

To ensure that the exam can be successfully completed by you from your home and using your system, we have enhanced the overall exam process to provide a seamless experience.

They Key Objective of this process is to ensure that your system is checked and configured as per the needs of taking this exam remotely. In case of any issues arise, the same will be resolved in the time allotted, post which you will appear for a Mock Assessment.

The 3-Step process as described below, will help you check the infrastructure readiness and will help you prepare and get ready before assessment on the exam day.

SYSTEM READINESS CHECK (SRC) In this step, ensure that your system and internet bandwidth and speed are checked as against the requirement of taking the remote assessment.

A required internet speed necessary to take the Online Proctored Exam

This step shall be performed at least 3 days before the exam date. Examinee can get this check done per their convenience. Once complete, this step will help ensure that your computer system is ready for the Exam. In case you face any issues during this process, you will have an ability to communicate the issue to the Technical HelpDesk. You will need to log your issues with the Online Technical HelpDesk and get required information in resolving your issues. Once the Technical issues are resolved, and the checks are successfully completed, your system would be ready for the exam.

AVAILABILITY OF WEBCAM The system to be used must have either an integrated webcam or an attached webcam. 1.

ACTIVE, DEDICATED INTERNET BANDWIDTH Connect to internet using Wifi router or as recommended, computer with a dedicated LAN cable. Ensure that, internet is being used only by you for test taking and ensure no other person uses the same internet connection for any other purpose. This is to ensure a seamless test taking experience.

FIREWALL & PROXY SETTINGS For a system with active Firewall, ensure that the firewall setting is turned "off" for the duration of assessment. – Disable all Proxy Setting

BROWSER SETTING Recommended Google Chrome browser for best experience Please verify the following key check points in browser setting before starting selfregistration or the actual Assessment.

ZOOM LEVEL: Set the browser Zoom level to 100%. Please access the zoom level setting by clicking the three vertical dots displayed on the right hand corner of your browser window as shown:

CAMERA ACCESS: Access to camera should be "allowed" for browser. On Google Chrome, please navigate to: Settings > Privacy and Security > Camera

ANTI-VIRUS Anti-Virus programs running in the background could generate system alerts from time to time. These system alerts would impact the running of Assessment Application and possibly stop the ongoing Assessment session. To avoid this situation, please temporarily disable / stop the antivirus program.

For steps and instructions to disable / stop anti-virus program during the assessment period, please follow the steps provided by your antivirus program.

In case using a system managed by Organization, Administrator access may be required to disable anti-virus protection program. A personal system with full access (administrative level) and control is recommended.

HELPDESK The Automated College Exam (ACE) allows candidates to use the HelpDesk to seek technical assistance and communicate with the Support Team for any queries with respect to the assessment. Below is the set of instructions to use the Helpdesk feature. 1. 2. 3.

Click the Help icon at the lower left corner of your browser Enter your complete details – a valid email address, full name, nature of issue and screenshot. The support team will revert within 4-24hours. Remember, DO NOT do your first system readiness check on the day of the examination to avoid any delay in your test-taking activities.

USING THE EXAM LAUNCHER – SAFE EXAM BROWSER The Safe Exam Browser (SEB) is a specialized web browser that allow institutions to restrict students access to tools and resources while they are taking an assessment. This tool is available for Windows (7, 8.2, 20) macOS (starting 10.7 or newer) and iOS (9.3.5 or newer). The application must be downloaded and installed on the device that the applicants will use to take the assessment. Because Safe Exam Browser (SEB) is a software running on the student's computer system, it can do a much more effective job of restricting their actions.

The following are the restrictions that can be implemented using the ACE Platform Exam Launcher (SEB). • • • •

Students will only be able to attempt the exam if they are using the SEB, no other browsers can be used The browser window won't have a URL or search field and back/forward navigation and reload can be disabled SEB cannot be closed until the test is submitted Switching to other applications is disabled by default, but it's possible to allow to use specific third-party applications during the exam – if permitted by the institution Shortcut keys such as Win+Tab, Alt+Tab, Ctrl+Alt+Del, Alt+F4, Print Screen, Cmd+Tab are disabled or cannot be used to close Safe Exam Browser or to switch to other user accounts on the computer. Specific websites / pages / resources can be configured to be accessible during an exam, using URL filter. Spell-checking and dictionary lookup is disabled, but can be optionally allowed – per institutions prerogative.

In order to take an attempt using the Safe Exam Browser, it is necessary to install the Safe Exam Browser configuration file which contains the rules and restrictions.
