I had been interested in learning photography for a very long time, but because of my busy work schedule, I was never able to dedicate the time to it. When I came across the evening photography course at Tresham College, I felt this was the perfect chance to finally return to education and pursue something I was passionate about. The fact that the college offered a flexible, part-time study route was especially important to me, as it allowed me to balance both my professional and personal commitments while still focusing on learning. This was one of the main reasons I chose Tresham College over others.
The course itself turned out to be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. Our instructor, was exceptionally kind, approachable, and patient. She made a real effort to understand each student’s requirements and always ensured that doubts or questions were clarified clearly. Her supportive teaching style created a positive environment where everyone felt encouraged to learn and improve. I really appreciated the personal attention and the way she helped us grow both technically and creatively.
In terms of skills, one of the most important things I learned was the value of studio lighting and how it can transform a photograph. Alongside this, the course helped me to think more creatively, giving me the confidence to experiment with new ideas and techniques.
Most importantly, this course gave me confidence in my photography overall. I now feel more capable of applying what I have learned in practical situations, and it has inspired me to continue developing my skills further. Taking this course has not only improved my technical knowledge but has also encouraged me to consider new opportunities in photography as part of my future.
