Fitness Programs

Supporting Readiness and Health As the First Recce Magazine Activity Program Feature of the Year, we learn about our Fitness Programs and the services our Fitness Centers have to offer. Mission in Motion The Fitness Team’s mission is to promote physical readiness, mental resilience, and community wellness through safe, comprehensive and effective initiatives. That mission comes alive in fitness events, training opportunities, and sports programs. Learn more about these initiatives next! Biggest Loser 2026 Start the year strong with the Biggest Loser Challenge, beginning January 5th through March 5th at Harris Fitness Center. More than a competition, it is a supportive, team-based effort to inspire healthier lifestyles through weight loss, fitness, and nutrition. The event welcomes everyone to join; open to military personnel, DoW employees, civilians, and families. Sign up via the provided QR code and follow updates on the FSS Facebook page. Train for Success Preparing for the 2-mile run or the 20M HAMR test? Harris Fitness Center offers routes and spaces tailored to both. Eight laps around the outdoor football track equals approximately two miles, while the golf course trail is a scenic option.

For HAMR training, choose the indoor basketball court or the football track where black markers outline the course. Play Together: Intramural Sports Finally, we promote team building and camaraderie through intramural sports. Whether competing, staying active, or simply having fun, these programs strengthen unit bonds. To join, contact your unit’s sports representative or reach out to the Beale Sports Program Manager, SrA Aron Labrador, for guidance. From Health to Community Together, these initiatives form a continuum. From personal health goals to shared competition, Harris and Omni Fitness Centers help readiness meet community.

Resilience Resilience

Resolutions Resolutions There is a reciprocal relationship between physical and emotional well-being, meaning when we feel good physically, we tend to feel better emotionally too. It’s science! Here are some helpful tips to improve your physical resilience in the new year: Regular exercise: Daily physical activity of at least 30 minutes can improve not only your physical health, but your mood too! Healthy diet: Eat a diet rich in nutrients to support your overall health and recovery. Limit shortcuts like sugary snacks and excessive caffeine which lead to an energy crash. Adequate sleep: Ensure you get adequate sleep to support your body’s repair processes. Consider keeping a sleep journal to track your sleep and make adjustments as needed. Develop good sleep hygiene habits, limiting screens, naps, caffeine, large meals, and alcohol before bed. Doom scrolling in bed is not good sleep hygiene! Mindfulness: Practice mindfulness techniques like meditation or deep breathing exercises to manage stress effectively. Beale Integrated Resilience Office 6199 C Street, Bldg 2435 530-634-6227
