I have been in the floor-coating business for 1 year. I was in the logging business for 8 years on the East Coast.

What did you do before this business?

Why are you in business? Providing for my family and providing great services in the community.

How did you get started in this business? I worked with a friend who did it and I ended up going to Indiana for hands-on training.

Local Business Owner Chris Troyer Is Putting His Stamp on the Community

MELINDA EGGING JOINS SANGRE DE CRISTO COMMUNITY CARE (Pueblo, Colo.) — Sangre de Cristo Community Care welcomes Melinda Egging as the new CEO. As CEO, Melinda Egging has responsibility for the organization’s hospice, home health and palliative services that provide needed care across southern Colorado. “I am so thrilled to be part of Sangre de Cristo Community Care, a wonderful nonprofit organization that has always been dear to me,” Egging said. “It is a privilege to return to Pueblo to serve both urban and rural communities.” Sangre de Cristo Community Care offers a 10-bed, free-standing hospice in-patient center, and has offices in Pueblo, Cañon City, La Junta, Trinidad and Walsenburg to serve patients wherever they call home. Egging is a 20-year hospice veteran having begun her career with Sangre de Cristo Hospice in Pueblo, Colo., in 2002. During her tenure, she served in a variety of roles and received multiple promotions leading to her role as chief quality, compliance and performance improvement officer. Egging joined The Denver Hospice in 2009 where she served as a leader over compliance and quality. She was then promoted in 2015 to Vice President of quality, corporate compliance and risk management at Care Synergy where she served until being promoted to President of The Denver Hospice in 2017. Egging serves on the board of the Home Care and Hospice Association of Colorado.
