Andre Chen, Arcadia Christian School 6th grader is ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) Spelling Bee Regional Champion and will be heading to Washington D.C. for his final match. He has earned this opportunity by competing locally and placing 3rd in the district, which qualified him to the regionals at Lake Avenue Church where he excelled his skills and won his chance at ACSI’s national round. When asked how he feels about heading to the nationals? “Nervous and excited”, he said. He’s doing his best to prepare by memorizing and learning new words daily. Andre is not only a master in spelling, but he is also extremely involved with his school. He is part of the student council Spirit Committee and plays the violin in his school orchestra. Along with having extra curricular activities, Andre also shares his excellence in his academics along with a passion for golfing. A true leader and a great asset to ACS. Cindy Harmon, principal of ACS says, “I am excited to be able to send Andre to DC to represent ACS at the Association of Christian
