At their latest regular meeting, the Pasadena City Council rejected a three-year, $9.37 million contract with LAZ Parking (LAZ) to manage eight out of the nine city-owned parking lots. Council’s decision was heavily influenced by LAZ’s recent multi-million-dollar legal settlement with the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) – a controversy which seemingly outweighed the city’s long-time objective to consolidate management of the city’s parking garages. Library in collaboration with Oculus VR, a division of Facebook Inc. The grant will help the Library to introduce visitors to exciting new technology and fun new educational experiences. Virtual Reality is a computer technology that

A 72-year-old male was arrested Monday following two attacks on females in separate areas of Pasadena. At approximately 4:04 PM, Pasadena Police officers
responded to the 3300 block of Sierra Madre Villa regarding an attempt kidnap of an adult female. The suspect, described as a white male, attempted to drag the victim and her dog toward a black SUV. A witness noticed the attempted kidnap in
progress and came to the victim’s aid, causing the suspect to release both the victim and her dog and flee the scene in his vehicle. Approximately an hour and a half later, an adult SEE MURDER PAGE 27
