Schiff sent a letter along with his colleagues to President Trump expressing grave concern that the White House eliminated funding for the West Coast Earthquake Early Warning system in its Fiscal Year 2018 budget request On Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey awarded approximately $4.9 million this week to six universities and a universitygoverned non-profit, to support transitioning the west coast “ShakeAlert” earthquake early warning system into a production system. The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) hopes to soon unlock some of the greatest mysteries of the human mind. Carl Foote’s Body Discovered Near Jones Peak, Bailey Canyon, Sierra Madre Staff Writer editorial@beaconmedianews.com
The Sierra Madre Police Department and the Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team with the assistance of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue along with search teams from Altadena, San Dimas, Antelope Valley and Montrose concluded an exhaustive search for Carl Foote Saturday afternoon. Foote had been missing since Sunday Aug. 6. Sierra Madre resident Carl Foote was reported missing by his wife on Sunday, Aug.
6 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Carl was last seen walking in the vicinity of Merrill and Highland Avenues at approximately 10:30 a.m. Foote was a lifelong resident of Sierra Madre an avid walker, hiker and cyclist, and familiar with the trails in Sierra Madre and the surrounding vicinity. Officers investigating the incident soon learned that Carl’s personal belongings, cell phone, wallet, bicycles and vehicle were all left behind at his home in Sierra Madre.
