Germany’s Aldi Supermarket Under Construction At Monrovia Landing by TERRY MILLER tmiller@beaconmedianews.com
T
he German Aldi Supermarket and TJ Maxx / Homegoods construction is well underway in the old Albertson’s Shopping Center which has been appropriately named, ‘Monrovia Landing.’ The shopping center’s new ownership group (Warner Pacific) to facilitate the reestablishment of the facility. The newly reimagined shopping center will feature an Aldi Supermarket and TJ Maxx / Homegoods store, and of particular note, the developer agreed to preserve the plane mural currently located on the building see in the photo above. The Monrovia Landing shopping center will see the existing Michael’s store moving next to O’Reilly Auto Parts. There will be a small addition of approximately 2,300 SF to the west of the existing facility to give O’Reilly’s Auto Parts a larger façade, and when everything is completed, the current concept plan breaks down the tenants as follows:

MONROVIA’S SIGNATURE FOURTH OF JULY CONCERT AND FIREWORKS SHOW Monrovia’s renowned Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks Show is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 4, in Library Park (321 South Myrtle Avenue). Live Entertainment for the evening will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a performance by Night Owl. The Monrovia Police Department was recently awarded the James Q. Wilson Award for Excellence in Community Policing. The award recognizes California law enforcement agencies that have successfully institutionalized the Community Policing philosophy, and each year, only three agencies across the entire State are recognized for their community policing efforts. award, the Monrovia Police Department has issued a commemorative award ribbon for all police department employees working on or before April 10, 2017. The commemorative ribbon bar can be worn by Monrovia Police Department employees on their Class A uniforms, and was distributed to thank and recognize all police staff .
