ith less than a month left until the final stage of Pasadena’s minimum wage ordinance goes into effect, the city council adopted a resolution that will raise the pay rates of various city employees to $13.25 per hour. Approved on March 14, 2016, the
ordinance set out to raise the city-wide minimum wage in three increments - $10.50 per hour beginning on July 1, 2016, $12 per hour on July 1, 2017, and $13.25 per hour on July 1, 2018. The City of Pasadena is contemplating acquiring land from the County of Los Angeles that has been home to neighborhood Eaton Canyon Golf Course since 1962. The plans tentatively call for the demise of the course into open space/parkland. According to those who golf (as well as local residents by the golf course), Eaton
Canyon Golf Course has experienced new life because of a change in management which took over operations of the business last September. A 32-year-old man has been charged with stealing a car, carjacking another, and leading police in a pursuit, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. Johnny Paul Siganoff (also known as John Siganoff, John Szabo and Frank Siganoff) of Phoenix, faces one felony count each for driving or taking a vehicle without consent, carjacking, assault
upon a peace officer, two felony counts of attempted carjacking, and three felony counts of resisting an executive officer. The defendant pleaded not guilty and is due to return on June 25 in Department J of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pasadena Branch. Case GA103610 was filed on June 1.
