Arcadia’s City Council convened on the evening of April 17 for its bi-monthly meeting to discuss city matters. The presentations saw the Pasadena Humane Society bringing in kittens to promote pet adoption in the San
Gabriel Valley, a Legacy Award presented to Mr. David Lee for his work with the Arcadia Chinese Association and his contributions to the City. Local teacher Carol Riboli accepted a proclamation on behalf of the One Legacy Donate Life Run/Walk. One Legacy is an organization that handles organ donations. SEE UNITING PAGE 12
ARCADIA ELECTION TALLY AND SECOND COUNT OF VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOTS THIS FRIDAY The Chief Deputy City Clerk of the City of Arcadia has designated that the Council Chamber Conference Room will be the place for the manual tally and the processing and counting of valid vote by mail and provisional ballots not included in the semifinal official canvass of the All Mail Ballot General
Municipal Election held on April 10, 2018. This manual tally and second count will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. Lisa Mussenden, Elections official for the city, said the count should be complete and final results should be posted on the city website by noon.

rcadia Weekly has received documents regarding an investigation into Mayor Pro Temp. Sho Tay’s election campaign alleging unfair political practices, specifically eluding to spending campaign dollars he received and used to support candidates Bob Harbicht and Councilman Roger Chandler. This newspaper has learned that at least 3 separate compalints againt Sho Tay have been filed for not only financing the printing and distribution of “misleading and false” mailers but also not disclosing campaign funds he received within the required 24 hour period after receipt.
