nthony Clegg was appointed as the new Executive Director of Community Media of the Foothills (CMF), the local non-profit that operates the Monrovia’s Community Access Station. The city established KGEM and supported the creation of CMF many years ago. Last June, when looking to renew the contract with CMF, the city council and city staff raised several concerns about the operation of the station. At that time, the council voted to extend the contract only 90 days. The contract was again renewed in September, again for 90 days. By November, when the issue was again brought before the council, the former executive director had resigned, and city staff reported good progress on CMF meeting SEE KGEM PAGE 10 Anthony Clegg working on the microphones for a show Monday morning. THE MONROVIA OLD TOWN REPORT Pam FITZPATRICK, Columnist pam@oldtownreport.com
I think we need to have a little discussion about parking – specifically, parking, or trying to park, in Old Town Monrovia. I know it’s a challenge --it may be such a challenge that we lose some of our best shops. But the bottom line is, if we want to maintain a healthy town center, we all have to be a bit more patient. We here in
the heart of things can’t do much, if anything about the parking, but we can be more pro-active about sharing where the public parking is located. It’s about time that we got together as a group and started handing out printed maps of all of the parking lots in the Historic District, includSEE OLD TOWN PAGE 10
