Long Beach Hosts Inaugural ‘Celebration of The Young Child’ April 14 On April 14, 2018, the City of Long Beach will host its first Celebration of the Young Child as part of the Department of Health and Human Services’ Early Childhood Education Program (ECEP). This free, one-day event will be held at Long Beach State University (1250 Bellflower Blvd.), from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A focus will

be placed on children up to age six. However, all families from across the City are welcome to attend. Attendees are advised to enter the event from Atherton Street. Parking is free for the first 200 cars in Lot E1. After the first 200 cars, the fee for parking is eight dollars per car.

RIVERSIDE’S GANG TASK FORCE ARRESTS NEO NAZI GANG MEMBERS Members of the Region 7 Regional Gang Task Force conducted a weapons related probation compliance check at a residence in the 5000 Block of Eclipse Avenue in Jurupa Valley. Task force officers contacted 24-year-old Jurupa Valley resident, Taylor Jason Bell and 26-yearold Lea Rochelle Hodak. Bell was found to be in possession of a stolen and

loaded handgun that had been previously reported stolen by a retired law enforcement officer in San Bernardino County. Bell was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and additional live rounds of ammunition. Hodak was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Further inves-

eputies from Norwalk Sheriff’s Station were alerted to potential firearms violations on the Biola University campus by Biola University Campus Safety Personnel. Deputies responded to Biola University, located at 13800 Biola Avenuein the city of La Mirada, and recovered one AR-15 style assault rifle and one 9mm handgun from Jason Michael Roberts’ dorm room. The suspect, 22 year-old Jason Michael Roberts, a senior at Biola University and resident of Red Bluff, California, was arrested and transported to Norwalk Sheriff’s Station where he was charged with possession of a firearm in a university
