Arcadia Association of Realtors Cancels Candidate Forum The March 7, 2018 Arcadia City Council Candidates Forum scheduled to be held at the Arcadia Public Library was been cancelled. This annual forum has historically been tailored towards an “at-large” election format. After the recent changes to the City’s election process (moving from an “at-large” election
format to individual district elections), the co-hosts of this forum, both the Arcadia Association of Realtors® and the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, have concluded that the public would be better served by other upcoming district-specific forums. Thus, SEE FORUM PAGE 12

City Council met on Mar. 6 in the council chambers for a regular meeting resulting in a new city-wide holiday. The meeting was blessed by Rabbi Shalom Steifel of the Chabad of
Arcadia-Temple City, and the pledge of allegiance was led by local hero and 80-plus year Arcadian John “Doc” Wells. Awards were presented to the Arcadia Beautiful Commission, 2nd-year award-winning tennis players Michelle Deng and SEE HOLIDAY PAGE 12
month’s controversial mail-in election. The press conference, held at Embassy Suites in Arcadia, was put on by AsianAmerican friends and supporters of Chandler and Harbicht. Also lending his support was Mayor Pro Tem Sho Tay. Chandler and Harbicht are running on property rights foundation/ along with an emphasis on a stronger police dept. The campaign says that public safety issues are paramount but council has generally voted 5-0 in support of all police requests in recent history.
